Student Sitar from Mohammad Waseem - Open Jawari Sound Test
I had the amazing opportunity to restore and adjust a student sitar that belongs to my friend Pablo Eduardo. This instrument, about 8 years old, was crafted by the talented luthier Mohammad Waseem from Miraj (India), a city renowned for producing high-quality string instruments.
The sitar Ravi Shankar Style already featured an impressive original jawari, which gave it a unique and authentic tonal foundation and response. During the restoration process, I carefully focused on preserving and enhancing this aspect, meticulously tuning and adjusting each detail of the instrument to bring it back to its optimal sound.
Now, after the necessary adjustments, this sitar not only looks refreshed but has also regained an incredible tone and response, making it a fantastic instrument for both students and experienced musicians.
In this video, I demonstrate how it sounds after all the adjustments with a little improvisation. I hope you enjoy this musical journey!

❤hola Xavi, muy interesante! Son muy pocos que escuchan el Drupad. He tenido la suerte de estar en conciertos a Benares, habia poco publico. Es que el Drupad es tan profundo que es para pocos, al dia de hoy somos mas superficiales y.... En momentos de depressione depresion me ha servido mucho la musica antigua de Drupad, era muy terapeutica,donandome una calma y paz interior. Te invio un saludos hermano!

❤ Tenia un disco de El , Raga Malkouns... tan hermoso y muy profundo raga! La frecuencia creo era en 432Jz , pero no soy seguro, lo que se es que no era en 440Hz. Un abrazo hermano ❤
Hola hermano... es posible, muchos discos antiguos no estan afinados en 440hz, es posible que los afinadores de la epoca no fueran accesibles, y con los cambios de temperatura y humedad bajaran todas las cuerdas de tono.... :)

Yo fui en India desde 1979 , encontre musico que me dijo que hay muchos SA la nota DO , tambien EN una busqueda de la frecuencia 432Hz he platicado con musicoterapeuta italiano me ha dicho' que in India la frecuencia 440 Hz llego nel 1970 -80 con la llegada de los americanos y la bebida coca-cola..... Pero aun en la musica classica indiana hay muchos tipo de afinacion... Chao amigo
