My little bit of history with Scotsman is I got time off work to see her come through New Mills South Junction on her way back from America. I cleaned her when she was at Dinting Railway Centre, including those famous nameplates, and rode in the cab taking film on No 4 road there. Happy days 😊

Amazes me that the astronauts could not be bothered to focus a camera with a depth of field from 5 feet to infinity. It would be almost impossible to screw up, but, they screwed up. The astronauts were bad photographers in general, but these two take the cake. They would have been better off with an Instamatic and a Super 8 movie camera.

In 1963 she was 40 years old wow a long time i thought being only 8 or 9. On 1st May 1968 she ran the non stop flying Scotsman London to Edinburgh and they only just a made it without stopping as they thought they may run out of water, again 40 years and it was such a long time. Where has all the time gone??? did someone speed up the clock?, That trip in 1968 is now 53 years ago.
