how do you get that warehouse style techno rumble?
ah I'm making a video about it, stay tuned! should be up in 1-2 d

machine from hell
oh wow I didnt know you could rack the 0 ctrl
you can't really :) the two blind plates on the bottom left hide the power cable I have to wire out. I think you need to mod it to mount it
really awesome jam. are you running the sy0.05 into a filter? Which one of those filters is your favorite? I am thinking of the steve's ms22. Your mix sits so well together, i suspect that has to do with your prioritization of filtering with your HP.
thanks! yeah a filter for each voice almost :) IMHO filters are way more important for sound scaping than the sound sources. I like the MS22 and the doepfer 24dB (A120). I took the trick from the DFAM and add noise into one of the doepfer input for some more gnarliness. The plus of the doepfer filters are it has 3 voltage inputs which is nice for these things. for the SY I use the built in filter and pipe it into the Guillotine which acts a bit like a filter which is maybe what you heard! I think the forbidden planet is a bit meh but it is good for the HH
@@nero_di_seppia thanks for replying! Your sound design and mixing is really spot on. Do you use the guilotine as a send and the delay/reverb in series? Or do u just have one send per reverb and delay and then only have the sy0 go to the guilotine? You really have the whole studio in that case, its excellent.
Yeah I use reverb and delay as separate sends and the sy goes into the guillotine alone. I will do a more detailed vid on this, but you can checkout the overview: th-cam.com/video/-ubDIe6wYTg/w-d-xo.html
thanks! what is the module you talk about at 2min05?
it's the SY.05 maybe, or Steppy?
@@nero_di_seppia the SY.05. thanks

I have a few questions on this excellent performance rack. Can you please explain: 1.) Why are you chaining the LPF and Mum M8? 2.) How are you using Plancks? 3.) Which role plays the Disting? 4.) How do you interact with your 1U Swtiches?
Thanks! 1) I find the MUM makes for some fun sound sculping if you crank up the resonance and I also patched in the envelope. However I have since removed it to save space 2) To have quick control over the end of chain high pass filter like on a DJ mixing desk. I also use it to co trol the filter of the reverb. Thus the Planks is like a „drop control“ 3) DJ style end of chain high pass 4) I use them to send clock and reset. There is some problem with the clock from the O CTRL and I cannot send it to both mimeophone and steppy. so I only send it to mimeophone once at the start. I think I will fix this with a buffered mult
@@nero_di_seppialotta thanks for the explanations!
Whoaa, that's a nice setup and performance ❤ subscribed!
How do you record a note so it rings out without having to turn the Gate up every time?
what do you mean? :)
Okay, maybe I'm on this island alone BUT... if it's more than one row of 3u and one row of 1u, is it really minimal anymore? I get that it's in ONE case that can be transported easily. This one case though is easily 8k$ so I wouldn't call that minimal for people getting into Eurorack. Just my thoughts.
Thanks for the feedback :) My point of view is this is about as minimal as it wil get for a 1h live set in a club. You can build smaller cases for tracks and stuff but for live it will be super hard. you need some sequencer, a mixer, effects, drums (I only have a kick and Hh) and 2 voices and filters. Also as you say the fact it is one case is for me the big benefit. You walk into a club and open it and play. No need to worry about wiring together pieces in a dark cellar :) BTW Modular grid says roughly 5k, still a lot modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2618901
Bravo calamaro 😀😀😉
Nice work. Tonal therapy clutch
Really enjoying this, nice work.
Sounds great with the distortion! LOVE the Quadrantid Swarm 😅. I play mine ALL the time, it's just full of unique sounds and that Spring Reverb inside is BONKERS. Full on Dance Groove you created here, every part of my body is bouncing, shaking and twerking to your Super-Sonic BEATS ~🔥🎶🎛🥁👏🏽💥🎙🌠⛓️🤖🌌🌛❗️
Sounds like Belgian shit from the 90s (which I was completely in love with). Bravo!
cant explore it enough:-)
Bad ass techno!
Great work! I assume nothing is quantised to a scale for this performance?
no quantizer yeah. I used to quantize but I found for the techno I want it is better without :)
No note quantization applied to the sequence from the Turing Machine?
Correct!
Good stuff bro, I put this on behind some synth tutorial videos and it really put me in the zone and ingrained the lesson into my memory.
Noticed your using the Make Noise O-CTRL, how did you deal with the power adapting ? It requires 15V and the eurorack power is 12V only. Are you simply using the wall power supply?
Yeah this annoyed me a lot! So I ended up keeping the cable and hiding it below 2 blanks which is wasteful. The only downside of the 0 CTRL. If there was a triple sequencer, with built in clock, with variable step count AND built in plucky envelope for eurorack I‘d switch, as I dont use the touch plates. But I found nothing :/
Did you dismantle that 0-Control to rack it, or is it just sitting on top of the case?
Yeah I had to dismantle it :)
But it is just a few screws

nice case, nice performance! do I hear a swiss accent?

@5:20 or so. The Song came extremely close to replicating "Zombie Nation" LOL. It just needed the "Ohhh woah oh woah oh" lol!
The accidental Reset makes it better IMO. Actually, there's a lot of "imperfections" in this Song, but they make it better. It reminds me of those Japanese Teapots repaired with Gold, apparently the Concept is called wabi-sabi (which is also just wonderfully fun to say lol).
Thanks :) I actually also like the break now. Need to do more breaks
The Algorithm recommended you. These Tones are immaculate. That initial Bass-Tone especially was like an egg-beater whipping my brain into a nice fluffy creme. I'm a new Fan of this Mechanical-Music. It's crazy how much it sounds exactly like walking through the partition-hallway as you enter the Club.
Ah that hallway bass is the best
The eight step sequence will drive you just as mad as the keystep 😆
haha 8 is enough mate
nice work.... you had a real fab groove going... have you play out much? p.s what is the module in the top left with the 4 sliders... ?
Thanks man! My day job is a bit too intense these days so I am not playing live much, but did some gigs in the past. It was always awesome hehe (best in some dark cellar) The top left is Planks II, a MI Frames clone. I use it to get control voltage, which I wire to the high pass filter in the distring, and the filters of the effects, to make drops ✨ Even better might be the 4tten from WMD as it is smaller modular grid here modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2616468
Darker the cellar the better .. ahahaha .. nothing like a small space with good energy.. 😊
An eclectic mix on gear there, love it! I’ve never seen a Kickain advertised on eBay and probably for good reason. 4 filters as well as Mimeophon’s filter, nice!
Thanks!! Yeah I also noticed that. It needs a bit of boost tho, in my opinion, for which I use the lovely QSC mixer gain.
Danke viu mou für de Spaziergang durch dis sischtem....interessant....stay tuned out of tune.....LG
This will and can only happen on the fly with constraints, knowing your gear, and trusting the flow will come and stay. No presets to find here. Awesome set. Just pure flow.
yeah I also feel this :) Less is more
Yeah usually when you hear a filter opening back up or an effect going fully dry, it's a good indication that things started to get weird to the performer's ear and they weren't sure how to push forward without a little step back. At least, that's what I do.
Impressively compact 😮 congrats for the minimalist approach ✨
inspiring performance, Nero!
Nice set! Really appreciate that you go through your rig. Always fun to see how others setup a small system for live techno!
That would be 84 hp ? or do my eyeballs fail me ?
@@Gman7953 it is 104 :) I think it could be made smaller. Here is the modular grid modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2616468
@@nero_di_seppia wow I expected 104 to be much bigger on the lap ! definitely piqued my interest, thanks !
Great video❤ but tbh there is too much reverb on the complete mix
Great job! Very inspiring :)

I realy like the sound , butfor me semi mod is enough, if u can’t reach the knobs, because of the nooodles it’s shiti! ~ iam for more knobs, less cables!
…but the sound is cool….
It is true the noodles can be annoying. But when the caee is fixed for performance I just tie them together and it works well😅
