We hit the local Southern California waters for some reef fishing and got lucky with an unexpected catch-a beautiful lingcod! The day was had steady action as we caught plenty of ocean whitefish and finished off with some bid barred sandbass. California Lobster Hoop Netting | We Made It Happen on a TOUGH Night
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Another mission to catch some California Spiny Lobster. We geared ourselves up with some hoop nets and headed out to the ocean. It was definitely a tough night. The lobsters just weren't crawling too much and we were pulling up a lot of empty nets. After spending a decent amount of time out there and moving around, we eventually came home with seven (7) lobsters Jazz Dreams by Snoozy Beats soun...

It's only California Spiny Lobster Season here in California. I got my hoop nets ready and all the gear I need. This was my first time doing this on my own boat, and it was a success. There was a little bit of a learning curve but we managed to bring home some delicious bugs Tuesday Vibes by Snoozy Beats soundcloud.com/snoozybeats Creative Commons - Attribution 3.0 Unported - CC BY 3.0 Free Dow...
Spearfishing Southern California | Hunting for Calico Bass in the Kelp Forest
มุมมอง 1.7K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
The water is finally warming up and it feels good to get back out there. Once the water starts warming up, Calico Bass tend to start spawning in the kelp forest. They're a lot more active and you'll often see some decent size ones with beautiful gold coloration. Managed to land a couple along with a California Sheephead for some delicious eating. San Diego | Tomahawk Sportfishing | My First Night Bite and I Lost My Bluefin Tuna
มุมมอง 5K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
I went on my first 1.5 day trip aboard the Tomahawk out of Fisherman's Landing. We went out in search of the night bite for Bluefin Tuna. It was a rough start. We made four stops in total and we were able to pick out a couple each time. On the very last stop, I hooked onto a nice size one, but unfortunately it popped off. We trolled around the daytime, looking for paddies and foamers. Although ...
Catalina Island Fishing/Spearfishing | First Crossing! Calico Bass on the Surface Iron
มุมมอง 6295 หลายเดือนก่อน
Took my boat out to Catalina for the first time! We aimed for a spearfishing and fishing adventure. Spearfishing didn't go too well. The visibility was a lot worse then we anticipated. We lost an anchor. So, I stayed on the boat to do some fishing while my buddies dove. Caught a few bass on the surface iron for the first time. We didn't sink so I'm glad we made it there and back on my boat.
Long Beach Harbor Fishing | We Were Fishing for Spotted Bay Bass and Then This Happened…
มุมมอง 4326 หลายเดือนก่อน
Decided to hit up a spot I don't frequent too much in Long Beach. I unfortunately was not able to land any fish. We fished hard, but it did feel slow. My buddy Brandon managed to catch a spotty on his very first cast. A couple of hours in, his fishing reel drag starts screaming. We were hoping that it was a striper or white sea bass, but a small Bat Ray was still fun.
Long Beach Harbor Fishing | Spotted Bay Bass
มุมมอง 5K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another day fishing in Southern California. This time, we hit up Long Beach to do some harbor fishing. I had time for a short evening session for some spotted bay bass. Managed to land some and managed to lose. Nonetheless, we did not skunk.
Fishing on the El Patron in Southern California | Catching Rockfish and Bonitos
มุมมอง 2.3K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I got invited out to go on an overnight trip on the El Patron off of Long Beach Sportfishing. It was a great trip overall and we brought plenty of fish home. Our original plan was to fish for white sea bass, but with the rough conditions, we decided to target rockfish. We eventually changed it up and hit up different coves at San Clemente Islands for some bonito and bass. Shout out to Sosa for ...

Taste like Chicken they fire
I can’t wait to try it!
Nice work 😮
Thanks for watching!
It was that ling how deep were you fishing?
We were in about 100-150ft of water
sheepie!!
yes sir!
Nice lingcod in Southern Cali. Rare to see them in SoCal.
Right?? We weren't expecting that for sure
Best trip of the year for me 🔥 appreciate you taking me out captain jason!
Haha thanks for coming man. To many more trips to come
its going great invite me sometime lol
Did you add any shrimp or squid on the jig as well?
Nope. Surprisingly no bait at all
That was a pile perch
You’re right
I always thought it was a mpa and never went there😂 good to know its fishable maybe someday I'll go back
It is! There are some MPAs that do allow fishing with some restrictions. California fish and wildlife has all the info our their website
should eat anything here. DDT dump site PV. be careful.
I gotta catch my first seabass soon huh?
Let’s do it! Lmk when you’re ready 😂
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT are they out during winter?
@ yeah but it’s pretty uncommon
Man! I wanna come this kinda guys and learn how to catch
They’re out there!
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT I can learn so much from you guys!
Thats my spot lol Good job It’s a lot of work add more hoops 10 hoops helps 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Haha thanks for watching! Maybe we’ll run into each other one day. Will have to save up some money for that 😂
@ It don’t cost to much to fish the harbor 5-10 min from the launch I live in Elsinore I spent more in gas to get there lol. Keep up the good work my friend I’ll be out tonight Loners Fishing 👍👍
@@steveduncan131 good luck!
super dope video
Thanks for watching man! 🙏🏻
Catch girls and not skunks. Oh wait you have a gf already.
Haha my biggest catch
catch lobster not feelings T
Yes sir. 🫡
im having a hard time catching lobster diving
Me too dude. Me too
there is a hot spot right now and it's near this spot(long beach).
Don’t worry man you got this! Catching lobster is tough. Just keep at it and you’ll get better and eventually get some
You got this man!
Haha lobsters are gonna be wherever you find them 🤷🏻♂️
i like how every single one of your video has a story, that takes some presentation skill!🎉
Thank you for watching! Appreciate it 🙏🏻
This is not a eockfishing
Great video! Do you use a fish finder on the boat to identify structure when setting your hoop nets?
Thanks for watching! Kind of! I’ve been dropping next to the jetties, so I the structure has been right next to me. But I do use the fish finder to determine the depth I’m dropping at and identify any notable structures. I try to avoid dropping right on top of kelp or rock and try to drop next to those structures
it cool meeting you in person, i was the dude that saw you at the boat ramp!
Yes I remember! Likewise man. Thanks for stopping by to say hi
Keep them out of water they will be much calmer when you get them home , but most of all they will smell up your bait tank…. That’s why keep out of your bait tank…
Thanks for the tip! I did notice that they were a lot livelier than usual when we tried to take photos at the end
Got that low key limit getter!
I feel like I’m there! Awesome video
Thanks for watching big dog!
Jason, can we buddy up and let’s go hoop netting? I just started last year and slowly getting my nets together.
Sure! Feel free to hit me up on Instagram
Awesome, will do. Thanks
One last thing never put your lobsters in the bait tank , keep them in an I chest without water …
How come?
Great first time , if you ever need a deck hand let me know , I would love to go out with you sometime….
Sure! Feel free to hit me up on Instagram
great video what jig where you using
Thanks for watching! It might have been a small pline metal jig. I’m sure anything small and shiny would work well
Watch out for a boat named “Rod Rage”. They ran full speed though my nets and cut off 6 of them.
Damn sorry to hear that! I’ll be on the look out
What type of bait were you using??
A mix of fresh sardines from the bait barge and frozen sardines I had from a while back
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT good work!
@@lolocolemanthanks!
Is there a limit and size limit for spider crabs?...
There isn’t, but I believe there is for rock crabs
Ic....did u guys go inside or outside breakwall?
Tfti!
You’re welcome!
You taking people in your boat for lobster 😅
Haha just friends and family at the moment
🦞🤿👌🏻
Thanks man! 🙏🏻
Great job spending time and making memories with family. Is it easier hoopnetting from a boat vs. Free diving for them.
Thanks for watching! You know, hoop netting is actually a lot of work. It’s pretty tiring pulling up all those nets the whole night. In terms of what’s more efficient, I think it really depends on how well the lobsters are crawling. You can have a really slow night where they’re not going to crawl into your nets. Whereas if you’re diving, you at least have a chance to pull them out of the rocks and cover more ground. But diving at night can feel sketchy at times too
lottery ticket loool i get triggered when people talk about catching the limit loool
Haha a man can dream 🥹
Nice haul Jason. Good work. I like that you're training yo girl to put in the work already so when you marry her, she's all trained.
Thanks for watching! Haha she’s almost ready. Just needs to learn how to drive the boat 😂
Right on!! Scoring some good eats, you should totally throw a GoPro with one of the nets sometime. I built a rig once to shoot like that and it worked well....but I didn't catch anything and haven't hooped net since. Feel like you could turn it into some epic footage for your episodes!
Thanks for watching! I’ll try to look into that. Did you have to add lights to the net at night for footage? I was kind of worried it would deter the lobsters. Maybe a red light would work
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT I think a red light would work, but I think maybe even a weaker light shouldn't be an issue. Can't wait to see it if you try it out
Awesome vid! I'm a newbie to spearfishing and I live in the area, would love if you could show me how it's done
Thanks for watching! Feel free to hit me up on instagram at CatchFishNotFeelingz
Nice work great boat 😮
Thanks for watching!
Love the family time! Enjoyed watching the video, congrats on a successful opener.
Thanks for watching man!
great video bro beautiful day
what gun you been using? you still have a pathos roller?
Thanks for watching!
My main arsenal lately has just been my 90cm SpearPro challenger and Riffe Euro 110
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT hell ya
Upload more spotty content but MDR
Thanks for watching! I’ll try to get up there more often
Nice vid 👍
Thanks for watching!
Which company did you hire?
This was on Dana Wharf Sportfishing from Dana Point. They have great boats and crews
Is this Crystal Cove? How about compare with Dana point which spot is better to catch for beginner?
Thanks for watching! I’m sure both is good. Just all about getting out there and putting time in the water. Anywhere with some rocky reefs is a good start. Check out your local dive clubs or Facebook groups for dive buddies. Check out your local spearfishing shop to get set up and for advice. Hope that helps!
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT Thanks for the info. I am newbie. Any recommendations someone I can learn from to catch the lobster. I have no experience of free diving. Do I need to attend the class first before I jump to the water? Really appreciate your info.
Enjoyed the vid. What size gun were you using?
Thanks! A bit overkill, but I was using a Riffe 110cm
