Painting portrait on canson paper for acrylic and oil. Canvas can be a bit expensive so I’m using this to practice on instead. I find that this paper is actually better than some cheap canvas boards I’ve tried. Music: epidemic sound

How I paint a portrait in oils in one sitting using a limited palette. I ran out of cadmium red so I used cadmium red hue instead. Materials: canvas panel paints: black, cadmium red hue, yellow ochre, titanium white, ultramarine blue Music: epidemic sound

Which colours did you use for the shadows please?
It seems like forever since I painted in watercolour even though the last portrait I painted was about 5 months ago. I was learning and still learning :). But the colours I used to paint this portrait were ultramarine blue, yellow, and burnt umber, permanent alizarin. I added black for the darkest areas since brown and blue wasn't dark enough. I can't remember exactly which colours I used for the shadows (sorry I have to relearn again) but maybe red/blue/brown.
