This was after KITT was talking with guests for many years. They took him off display over the pond, deactivated his voicebox and just left him to be touched with a lot of fingerprints. Just another notch of Universal not caring about quality.

Love how the feature-length episodes were actually dubbed as 2-hour movies in these ads. Makes them feel more like they're meant to be presented in their feature-length formats as opposed to the syndicated 2-part edits. Also makes them feel more like they were the real deal, whereas the 2-part versions make them feel less special. Particularly where they trimmed scenes out cuz of the run time and to allow more advertising space.

One certainly hears pleasant, rich voiceovers far far less in the U.S. now than even a few decades ago. They are certainly not just a matter of natural talent; Basehart worked hard.
