Wow your video blessed me. If my child's 1st grade teacher had explained things that way to me, my child would have been still been in public school. Thank you!
Enjoyed this haul/ unboxing! Can you share any updates about how it’s going with this curriculum??
Fellow GA homeschooling mama here!!
Wooow! I used to watch you back in the day Mrs.Mahogany lol. Glad to see you’re back!
So proud of you both. I know it’s been a journey!!!
The atlas looks beautiful. You have a nice selection of classical books this year! Hard to believe you have one in college now and more than one n high school. Have a blessed year ❤️
This video is jam PACKED w 🔹️♦️🔸️! I sat down and started watching. Then I paused it to get pencil and 📝 ! Thank you so much for this and God bless you greatly! Today I KNOW I was in the right place at the right time. It was EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you so much for this lesson! 💗
WOW!!!! Way2GO!!!!! I have my first high schooler (9th) coming up so YES, we would all love to hear your experience. My son and I created our channel so that we can document the journey for others. We'd love to hear from your daughter. Thank you in advance.

This is a breath of fresh air. Missed you!
I'm glad you found it helpful.
Memoria has been a long time favorite of ours. If you're unaware, Rainbow Resource stocks many of Memoria Press 's materials, so you may be able to get that "stray" Latin student Guide from there--easier to hit free shipping there, also. Rainbow is also usually a few dollars cheaper, but the trade off is not getting the digital add ons in your account. You also have to pay attention to which addition it is (if that matters to you).
Thanks for the tip. I can totally just add the Latin book to my Rainbow Resource haul.
How’s everything going?. you madde beautiful edition-see you on my side,friend- )
If we don't notice that we missed something from birth to age 18, then I guess it probably wasn't too important.
Yes, that's exactly right.
I've been watching you forever. Since youtube was a baby.
Oh, those were the days. Thanks for sticking with me this long. 💕
Thank you for posting this!
Yes! I have a Bachelors in Childhood Education and, while in college, it was always stressed to start with the standards when mapping out the school year. Currently have toddlers but as I am gathering resources and curriculum , having scope and sequence in mind is allowing me to gather resources on a tight budget. Love your channel; thanks for sharing your knowledge. You broke it all down in this video.
Yes, that's exactly why it's important to understand what you "need" to cover. Then you can use any resources you wish. I started homeschooling before this huge variety of curriculum existed. We had to set learning objectives and pull resources together. It was a harder learning curve but it made it easier to understand how curriculum was designed therefore you were not dependent on it.
You're going to do all that work to feel not stressed, then throw it all out lol.
We like Dick and Jane treasury for learning how to read. And we REALLY like Pathway readers (they are great Amish stories)
@@Volleyball_Chess_and_Geoguessr My oldest two have fond memories of the pathway readers. Those were a good choice.
Congratulations!! I can’t wait to hear it all with regards to graduating a homeschool high schooler.
Your videos are so comforting and informative. I’ve been a homeschooling mom for 5 years now, and I still struggle with the “We’re behind” attitude. Just watching the series of videos you’ve posted has made me aware that everything will be fine and to just relax. Congrats to your daughter on completing this huge chapter in life, and congrats to you personally for successfully launching her to that goal. Thanks for posting!
I'm glad you've found these videos helpful. I'm jus trying to share things I've figured out along the way. Thanks for the congrats.
Thanks so much to you both for your openness and honesty. I have two graduates, but each child is so different that I still enjoy hearing about others' experiences as it gives me insights into my youngest who is currently in high school.
I thought I was subscribed to you a while ago lol Welcome back!! You've been missed!
Super helpful!! Thank you sooo much! My daughter is going into 7th grade but so far she's making the decision to continue homeschooling. I'd like to prepare now to see what's available. I haven't considered all that you've mentioned and now I feel like we will be just fine!
Oh, you will be just fine. You are at the right grade to start thinking about how you want to go about it without the stress 🙂.
Thank you so much for this Erin and Mecca! Congrats to you both- I really enjoyed watching. I especially enjoyed your candidness about socialization. I would love to hear more about how you chose dual enrollment and at-home classes for high school.
Thank you. I would love to see the same kind of planning for a student who is not college bound.
I mentioned in the video that I would give that student a standard track. I would meet the minimum requirements of graduation that other students in my state meet. So I'd use the state board of education graduation requirements as a rubric. In my state they need 4 math( I'd only go up to Algebra 2 then instead of an advance math like precalculus I'd do consumer math.), 4 English, 3 social studies, 4 science, 1 health/P.E, and 2 foreign language. The electives would be bare minimum to whatever a minimum of graduation credits is. I think in my state they need around 19credits. So I wouldn't make them go past that. If they have this on their transcript they can not go to college or in the future still have the basics to qualify to go to college. My college bound track just has more competitive course selections. The other track I mentioned is vocational. The last two years would be dual enrollment at a technical college/ Jr. College for a certificate or associates in a trade(examples like welding, HVAC, CNA, EMT, Clinical Laboratory technician, Dental Assistant, Etc...) I'd use this same template to map out the courses.
Awesome video! Thank you to you and your daughter for sharing your wisdom regarding socialization for homeschool tweens and teens. Very insightful.
No problem. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Yes! Please tell us more about high school curriculums that you loved and did not love.
Ok, I'll probably do this one next. It's a fun topic for us curriculum connoisseurs. 😂🤣
Such a good talk! Socialization in those high school years is a real thing. It's so easy to plan events and activities when they're young, but once they get to high school (really even Junior high) they have to start building their own relationships with friends that aren't manufactured by Mom or Dad. Congratulations on making it through these last few years and graduating. These last couple of years have been tumultuous. Go and be great young lady! By the way, I love Marva Collins! I've watched the film and I have one of her books.
Congratulations! I have always admired you for homeschooling and I can't believe you have a high school graduate already. I wish you all the best! 🙏🏾😀
Time just flew by for sure. Thanks 😌👍🏽💕
Good to know about the scoring too!
We used Fix It Grammar from IEW this year and love it too. It was our first year also.
Do you have any advice for Dual Enrollment?
Lol at Little House on the Prairie! It can be ruff in these streets. Thank you for supporting your daughter.
My kids don't like Math either 😆
I purchased Woke history and the required books as a springboard but it has been hard to get to it lol?
My question would be for history: How did you fit it in?
Congratulations to you!
Hey hey! Glad I am able to catch some. Seems I have to catch the replay.
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you have any questions.
Would love to hear from your daughter.
Yes, please. I have a rising 10th grader.
Congrats on graduating your homeschooler! How exciting!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I would love to see vids on the full process of graduating your oldest and all that it entails. And I would also love to see how you've streamlined your homeschooling. Do you use a religious curriculum? What religion do you practice? How do you incorporate life skills (cooking, budgeting, sewing, cleaning, shopping, etc) into your homeschooling? A series would be awesome!🥰
Would love to hear about any and all of the topics you mentioned. Especially interested in your curriculum choices for your 10th and 8th graders.
Congratulations!! I would love to hear about the process of graduating from homeschool. I have little ones, pre-k, but I am here to learn about the process from beginning to end.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to get these videos up in the week or so. Stay tuned.
Congrats to you. Open to anything you post
Thanks 💗. I probably going to make a series.
Awesome video! I will definitely be on the lookout for the Five Minute Devotion book.
We LOVE the Five Minute Devotions Series! Thanks for sharing these books.
Hey Sis, hope you’re well. I miss you. Terri
I've been gone from TH-cam 8 years I'm back for 2022. Nice to see a friendly familiar face
You are such a resourceful mom! 🔥 Have you considered sharing foreign language resources? We would love to partner with you!
I'm drooling at all those sketch books 😂
Amen, sister! Christ is at work in your life- I love this! I really loved hearing about your children updates. Also, I need to get a deeper blood work done since I’ve had anemia so badly over the years. I’d like your advice about how to sustain with diet or anything else you are doing to help. Thanks so much!
