Oh it the same type of spider I had under a big pot sink when I was doing my plastering course back in 1998. Me and the guys on the course named her Vanessa and we fed her all the time, she even tackled a wasp and bit and wrapped it up in her silk. She sure was a big old girl some 18 months later.🎉
Cheers 👍
Love this one John!
I live in thame
a rollie polly? WHY much more deserving victims out there
I'm from the UK 🇬🇧 so Spider bites in UK
That's scary
What kind of spider is that she’s Magnificent
Giant house spider
Its european cave spider. Absolutely not giant house spider. Its 'meta menardi' - eurooean cave spider. Yes.
@@nizari116 Have you ever saw Meta menardi? Metas are smaller, not living in this enviroment. You could see her big butt in video, typical web for Tenagaria/Eretigena, also typical face.
@@nizari116 Wrong. Its Eratigena Atrica ( Giant house spider) relative to the UK and other parts of Europe
@@Jay.999. no its not. I live in europe. Im 100% positive this is cave spider.
I was there at the time :) I was only 7 at the time though
I've lived here all my life and whilst it's true that a lot of the lovely old buildings are no more, Aylesbury still has some picturesque areas such as Temple Street and Church Square which have remained relatively untouched. I still think that, in comparison with many other towns, Aylesbury is a relatively clean and pleasant place to live. Thanks for this :-)
That looks like a giant false window, at least he won't have as many wasps in he shed or garden
You could be right. Also looks like a labyrinth spider too
@@ToeKnee666 i believe its the labyrinth spider
This is an Eratigena atrica, not very closely related to the genus "Steatoda" (false widows)
Just looks like a normal U.K. house spider, they’re harmless to humans.
Bug: 'Fangs for the memories babe'
Why so many dislikes 👎??
duno maybe their house wasn't in your video?
Only Woodlouse spiders (Disdera Crocata) can bite and eat such a panzer . WL spiders have giant fangs ....
Have subbed you, because the Pod was my design all those years ago so I thank you for posting. 🙏
Derek..!! How are you? Do you remember me, the 16 year old lad from when we were at 7 Park Street, Aylesbury. 🙂
Stop throwing bugs in the web Blake!
I spider eats bugs, what else is it supposed to eat other than bugs, bugs are the only thing spiders can get their protein safely
haha. I think Mr. spooder doesn't want to break his teeth cracking through that.
Wish I was that bug so something would be interested in me
Rolly polley.. aka woodlouse
guess your on Tindr
Nuke it from space, its the only way to be sure.
even the spiders we have here are crap
?
😂😂
Looks like a common female house spider. Until it's fangs appear. The males are those thinner bodied big ba****rds that run round your living room at certain time if the year. looking for her !!
They just want love hahaha
That son of a bitch look like that shit from hobit movie
The spider didn’t like the flavor maybe 🤔
insect version of an armadillo
Not being funny unless that was brought to uk thats not from uk
Looks like a false widow so it could easily be from the UK. It’s very easy to find one these days.
It’s a giant house spider they are native here and grow from 2 to 5 inches leg span
Not everything is a false widow lol
False widows use "wrap attack" to catch their prey...and false widows, unlike giant house spiders (they rely on speed and brute force to catch prey as seen in this video), do eat woodlice
@@PontyclunBosomPals not even closely related. This is an Eratigena atrica. False widows are muuuch smaller and they fall under the family Theridiidae while these "giant house spiders" are in the Agelenidae family
I’d go grab the 12 gauge if I saw that
That spider was actually quite small, given pill bugs are usually no more than 1 cm in length. You should see our wolf spiders.
What a complete waste of my time. I can watch people standing in a car park anytime. Next time you screen a video about a field why not try at least pointing g the camera in the direction af the appliances? This is singularly the worst so called "fire video that I have ever seen. Zero out of ten for effort and the same for entertainment value.
Oh crap,dangerous ones exist too,in the U.K.?
They not dangerous neither are they big they just look big cuz of the camera location
They can give you a nasty nip that's about it! unless you have an allergy or something else is introduced along with the bite like a nasty bacteria or something. I got bitten on the chest through 3 layers of clothing by a common garden orb weaver pain eased after a day the swelling lasted 4 days. It mistook me for food though they don't usually bite people. I leaned into it's web while using a 2 stroke engine hedge trimmer. The noise and vibration would have made me seem like a massive fly!
@@danhudson4614 Through 3 layers? Are you sure? A horsefly can do that but I'd be amazed if a UK spider could.
@@davidjames2145 Hundred percent mate. Shocked me as well! TSHIRT, Hoodie and a thin rain jacket. Thing is it mistook me for a fly so went all out, wasn't like a warning shot. I'm wary as f now when leaning into shrubs with the hedge cutter!
Noone said it was dangerous (because it's not)
A TIME CAPSULE!!
Good video , used to live here -
Brilliant! What became of these fellas and where are they now? Must be in there 50's? Wish more people had filmed like this back then, cant believe how much things have changed.
Cheers! I'm not quite that old.😳 I filmed this when I was 20.... I'm 45 now, and work as a Paramedic. My mate Stuart driving the truck is the same age as me, and is now a long distance HGV driver. Glad you enjoyed the film. 👍
@@johnhounslow3255 Thanks for the reply. Glad I got it wrong and you are younger. I am 38 so not far behind and remember 1995, I was at school.
When u bite into the gherkin in a Big Mac
Lovely film.
Nice cameo from SCAS ;-)
18:58 been on this for the last couple of hours.....yeah right, he only just jumped on from round the corner the lying git! 😂😂😂 Good Morning Britain.
where are the polish and romanian immigrants who are taking away english jobs?
Typical ignorant comment. They only 'take' these jobs because others are too lazy to do so, as evidenced by the fact that fruit and vegetable growers found it impossible to recruit after these so-called job takers left.
lucky bug :D
Hi John I have one of these PODs in my custody and I was trying to find more about them without any success. This is the only video I can find along with one on Vimeo by Simon Burgess. I tried locating the Director of Shanning at the time to ask about further info. Again couldn't get any luck. Do you have any info or strings you can pull to connect me to Mr. Kenneth Burgess or anyone form the Shanning legacy? Much appreciated.
Arif Al Yedaiwi Hi Arif I use to work for the company between 1989 and 1991. These units were manufactured in a town called Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, UK. Unfortunately, I can't help you with contacts, as I'm no longer in contact with anyone from the company. I do, however have a plethora of photos that I took from around the time.... John.
John Hounslow That would be awesome. I am looking for electrical wiring diagrams or any info to help me rebuild it to its former glory. I am turning it into a camper. I shall send you some photos in two days.
Aylesbury. A picturesque town full of lovely buildings build by the architects of the 60s. i.e. it's a pile of shit and the only person to go there on holiday would be *insert political leader here* because they are a pile of shit.
Haha, is that an Exposure bike light? That's hilariously random :)
Karina Well spotted...🙂
What a cute spider.
I live in Aylesbury last year . It's a beautiful town 💙💙 . Please show us Mandeville School ! 😀😀
no it's not, it's a dying hellhole, I live just outside in a village and I like to think of it as setting up a lawn chair and watching it burn.
that was great to watch
not looking at the mess was looking at the guy walking past the pub ...... nice
Are you referring to the chap with a marrow stuffed down his pants...? @6:00
yeah thats the one Lol
What a mess. It will be a city soon. Starting to look like Milton Keynes. Nicely photographed though. Too small for the large scale development expected of it. You can not even get a train to Milton Keynes from Aylesbury and Aylesbury has very few jobs so where are all these people going to work? Not thought through.
misfit they will commute to London maybe
This is also one of the great satanic achievements. Does anyone get the reference?
Which camera did you use?
A Sony CCD-TR750E. It was the nuts when I bought it, back in 1994. I still use it now...
Awesome! Im in search for one of these cameras!
This was this year? how come I didn't hear about this
Can't believe you've got this footage...seems a live time ago. Hope everything is good with you?
Hahahahahaha i see my mates sharon and dave crossing over at the beginning! The ones that were talking lol :D I love Aylesbury...Amazing film quality by the way :)
Cheers...
What tripod are you using and what camera? thanks
I use an old video tripod that I found in a charity shop. It's pre-90s, as it says made in West Germany. The camera is a Panasonic HC-X920...
I saw my car
