Greetings! I’m Gabriel! I’m a guy who likes classical music and makes some content about it. Expect to see performances, original compositions, and more in the future!
Frescobaldi, Toccata Seconda, F 2.02 (Rousset, Mencoboni)
Frescobaldi was one of the most important composers in the transition from the renaissance to the baroque. One major part of his output includes his two books of toccatas for keyboard. In the second edition of book one, Frescobaldi made a list of rules for performing his music which I simplified as the following:
1.These toccatas are filled with a number of sections, which Frescobaldi notes should differ in mood and tempo.
2.Regardless of how short the note is, when you reach the end of a section, there should be a pause in the music.
3.As you reach the end of a section you should slow down.
4.The opening chords should be played adagio and arpeggiated.
5.When there is a written out trill, do not play it metrically, like it like a typical trill.
6.When there are passages with 8th and 16th notes (quavers and semiquavers), the 16th notes should be in a Lombard rhythm.
Why listening (or playing) these pieces, keep these rules in mind
Timestamps + notes
Rousset:
A - 0:00 (rule 4, Frescobaldi introduces the idea of a dotted rhythm in this section)
B - 0:34
C - 0:48 (a bunch of 16th note runs)
D - 1:06 (rule 5)
E - 1:20 (rule 6)
F - 1:38 (fun imitation of a four 16th notes idea in )
G - 1:55 (rule 2, long 16th note runs first in the right, then left hand)
H - 2:13 (note the use of the notated doted rhythm (even other note is dotted), and them the lombard rhythm which is the rhythmic idea but in double time.
I - 2:59
J - 3:16 (the pulse in this section and the contrast in the following section make J and K my favorite part of the piece.
K- 3:38
L - 4:10 (rule 2)
Mencoboni -4:41

Mozart, Viennese Sonatina No.6, K 439b (Katsaris)
มุมมอง 3.2K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
These six sonatinas first appeared in print in 1808 by Artaria, Vienna’s first major music publishing house. They are arrangements of Mozart’s five Divertimentos for three basset horn, K.Anh.229/439b, written in 1783. As of now, the arranger of these pieces is unidentified, but Austrian composer Ferdinand Kauer is a likely candidate. The notable changes in the sonatinas compared to the original...

That was pretty offensive how dare you, respect your elderlies!! "Final words before a drum major dies"
I remember having to turn off snares at my school lol, they can be pretty annoying lol
My Orchestra arrangement of this piece, as “Viennese Sinfonietta No.6”: Woodwinds (Adagio tacet): 2 Oboes Brass (Adagio tacet): 2 Natural Horns in C Strings: Violins 1 and 2 Violas Cellos Basses
@@JordanCooper-z7z that sounds like a fun idea.
Another one of your cool and very interesting ideas!
Best version of this score on TH-cam.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great!
Thanks.
Cool! Hopefully you can fully polish this piece!
That’s the plan.
I refuse to accept that the title of this video is a typo, and will instead choose to believe that Mozart wrote this sonata in honor of the Tây Sơn.
No, it is a typo. I said Vietnamese instead of Viennese.
Interesting
I wish that tiktok logo was not there 😢
Nice! Hopefully you can play the entire piece one day
Amazing innovation and beautiful sound. Lovely.

Interesting, it sounds as a crossover between J. S. Bach (beginning) and Mozart (presto). When was this written?
This piece was published in 1776, so It was probably composed sometime before 1776.
@@gabe_the_musician yes, it is an interesting hybrid style so to speak, with baroque and (pre)classical elements.
