Assalamu’alaikum and Hello everyone, Punjabi Cyclist here! Join me on my cycling adventures, audaxes, product reviews and tips on bike maintenance.
I started cycling in 2019 this was prompted by my 2-hour delay to get to work using the public transport. I decided to buy a bicycle to cycle to work this was initially a daunting task, cycling 40 miles for 5 days a week that's 200 miles, utter madness.
I persisted with this mounting challenge as the word "giving in" is not in my vocabulary and after cycling for a while my stamina and fitness improved it became much easier.
Now I cycle for fun and adventure by going on ultra-endurance rides!

Insta360 Extended Selfie Stick Practical Review
In this video, I explore the differences between the Insta360 Extended Selfie Stick and the standard one. As an avid cyclist, I've been searching for ways to capture aerial shots of my rides.
Initially, I considered three options: hiring a helicopter crew, buying a drone, or purchasing the Insta360 extended selfie stick. Naturally, the helicopter crew was out of the question due to its impracticality and cost. Although a drone was a tempting choice, the complexity of handling it while cycling made it less appealing. Thus, I opted for the Insta360 extended selfie stick, which extends to an impressive 3 metres.
The Insta360 extended selfie stick is a convenient solution that fits right into my jersey pocket, allowing me to shoot whenever I want without the hassle of managing a drone. While it doesn't completely replace a drone, it offers similar aerial shots that add a dynamic perspective to my videos. I compared the 3-metre long stick with the standard 1-metre version, and although extending it fully isn't always necessary, the additional length provides greater flexibility in capturing wide-angle views.
After thoroughly testing the Insta360 3-metre selfie stick both on and off the bike, I wanted to share my thoughts.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase as it will allow me to achieve drone-like shots for my viewers during my cycling adventures.

come one man, no footage from the x3 camera itself?
The footage is in this video th-cam.com/video/mFmiO_QBKcI/w-d-xo.html for my One X2 camera.

nightmare 😒
I am looking to get the x4 and he 3m stick for hikes, I have seen proper camera gear that is really steady but heavier and retract to 75cm, so not ideal for light overseas travel. How does the x4 deal with the stabilisation when say just walking with it above me at 3 metres please? I have subbed, need more Punjabis on here 😀
Thank you Paaji for subscribing appreciate it, I have a One X2 and the stabilisation seems decent; and I am guessing on the X4 it would be even better being the latest model, to be frank I don't have a X4, thus cannot comment factual. I am also going to use the 3M selfie stick with my ONE X2 on my hiking trips, probably make a couple of videos for my viewers like you. 😂 Definitely need more Punjabis watching this channel, please spread the word!
@@PunjabiCyclist I have the X4 coming tomorrow with the 3m stick, will let you know how it goes. I will sub on a couple of other accounts. I have a VR channel with a descent following, but I am swaying more towards vlogs and video etc. The past 3 months I have purchased the DJI mini 4 pro, DJI Osmo pocket 3 and not the insta x4, I think I may have a problem 🤣

Should you buy the Insta360 3M Selfie Stick for capturing your cycling adventures or not?
I honestly think you don’t need the long stick. The one you have is fine.
I will switch between the 2 selfie sticks, standard one for on the bike and the 3 metre one for off bike to get better aerial shots of the scenery, especially when I am at the summit of a climb / mountain.
Just hire a helicopter bro,
The Nihari sounds nice. Good riding
Thanks Bro, proper lavely Nihari!!

Well done for finishing, looking forward to your next adventure
Thank you bro, more to come - keep tuned
Dude, it's a marvel that you made it home safely ...gets you thinking ...cycling on public roads running on below empty just sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Thank you Paaji, I was completely empty, despite that I am speechless on how the body and mind finds a way to adapt / cope with the demands you put on it.
Well done on completing the ride bro! Great result in the end! Im still glad i didn't sign up for it though! 😂
Thank you bro, I am addicted to suffering, thus was glad I completed the ride, learnt more about my body and mind for future adventures. I think you should sign up for next year Insha’Allah.
Before I was having serious FOMO...now I'm grateful i did miss out! 😂😂😂 Looks very tough! Well done for doing it and thanks for sharing your experience even though it was really tough.
You can do it bro! I am guessing you are in better shape than me, I had been off the bike for 6 months, I love suffering, despite all this I am happy I took part.
Excellent!!! Loved the 3-parter, mashallah. Hope you enjoyed days of Nihari and Haleem 🙂
Thank you bro, loved the Haleem and Nihari really hit the spot... with garlic naans, you should give it a go 😋
Well done man. That fatigue after the ride bro. The more you do these things the faster your body recovers. Keep it up bro Alhamdulillah. Also, regards the pressure sores - search for a cream called Medihoney and get the cream version - it i blended with manuka honey and reall helps the pressure sores heal faster. If you want quicker healing then the pure version is even better.
What pannier bag is it bro. Personally the lowest level pannier you should be owning is a Deuter or an Ortlieb. Yes, Tailfin, I suppose going ultralight on a pannier is gonna have its own stress-reponse. My Ortlieb saddlepack (17L) once broke at a clamp but they replaced it. Another thought Asi is that you use standard bikepackingbags. This was slightly less volume means you pack lighter and therefore go further. JK for the vid.
Thanks bro for the advice, appreciated. Tailfin kindly have replaced the clamp for free, it was my error, I am very happy with the Tailfin bags, it was a blessing in disguise at least I got a proper nashta for once! 😂😂
@@PunjabiCyclist so true and well done them. Ive been meaning to have a dig at TF ever since they were released. You just gave me the chance. Dont take em to the South Pole bro.
@@shafter164 That's fine bro we all have our preferential bike packing bags, to be fair I didn’t notice that the lower hook was not slided onto the rack; and the upper mount was on 1 of the pannier mounts and not 2; and I tried to clamp it, while doing so a small plastic bit above the clamp broke. I will put it down to user error rather then product workmanship.
Crazy fool 😂
💯 agree with you buddy, something is wrong with me! 😀
@@PunjabiCyclist 😂 In all seriousness though, great effort mate. Rather you than me..
Well done!! You should have taken the route that I was doing, I kinda realised you took a very long route when we detached. But either way you did well
Thanks bro, lesson learnt - I couldn’t keep pace with you and your route, anyway there is always next time!
Loved the start but bro,, you look knackered towards the end. Inshallah the route back was easy. Can't wait for pt3...
Thanks bro, yes indeed I was shattered which was expected after hardly any cycling for around 6 months. This is the first time I was doing a multi day ride to see how my body and mind cope!
Bro' if you need the route planning next year let me know. I just squirm when I see people riding many more miles than they need to or when they are on the main busy roads when there are quiet options. Everything is in the planning!
Thank you most helpful, will keep that in mind.
Another excellent video and a great effort, thanks for sharing. Keep pushing my brother

I find Garmin routes are pretty rubbish too! Always giving hillier routes when there are less hilly available...

Indeed, resulting from the Insta360 third person handlebar mount, the carbon pole loosens so need to keep checking. I was testing it out, not a big fan of it, I prefer the motorcycle mount which is solid.
does anyone know what the attachment is? Can I use my rear light which has the garmin quarter mount?
It is a rubber band mount; and it will not work on the Garmin Quarter Mount, however I use it for my Lezyne Strip Light as shown here amzn.to/3LeIrbO

Great video, any climbs to be aware of on this ride? I'm doing it this year.
The route I did back in 2022 wasn't that hilly no particular climbs to worry about, the route is here www.komoot.com/tour/787581717 - I was more worried about the 20,000 or so cyclists buzzing around me!
Patch kit; Rule 83.
Agree 💯
Can this fit on bmx handle bar?
The product description says its designed for road cycling (not suitable for off-road/mountain biking), so I guess the answer is no.
Good effort lad
Much appreciated!!
So what do you say? Don't buy it? And which gps mount does fit on this handlebar mount?
The key issues I have with this handlebar mount after more use since this video are: 1. The camera can get loosened / unscrewed due to road surface vibrations. 2. Finding a solid bike computer mount to use with the thumb screw is a challenge; and Insta360 don’t provide any recommendations, I have tested a few from Amazon both for Wahoo Roam and Garmin not satisfied with them. 3. To keep the rod upright with the camera for 360 views is a challenge and you will have to stop and tighten the screws at intervals. Based on the above my honest advice is it’s not worth it, instead you are better of getting a Motorcycle Mount amzn.to/3HJpGMR which I have reviewed here th-cam.com/video/3mazvwS1WBI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared it’s a heavy duty mount, it’s solid and I haven’t had any issues with it after using it since I bought it back in July 2022.
Well done bud great effort really enjoyed the film
Thanks for watching and appreciate your positive comment, I need to get on the bike this year and share more mad rides 😇
I did it some days ago. Ok, maybe someone can say that's boring, but I was alone in nowhere... Animals, wind, loneliness... I made a mistake on my ride, and i closed 67km loops instead 86, but it was a great experience. 2h 20m of great amusement!
I am glad you enjoyed it Robert, it is definitely a different experience for me cycling in the UK.
So I have a roam v2, considering changing to Garmin because of having to delete and reinstall the app to get lost data, at least 4 times in the past 6 months. SHOUKD I SWAP FOR GARMIN???
Wahoo Roam served me well just under 2 years, however when it started playing up twice on my 400km Audax ride last year, reset once then again it froze on the map screen, I decided I will go to the market leader Garmin especially as I have Di2 (electronic gearing) on my bike and the Hammerhead doesn't support that, plus Garmin has much more detailed maps and better turn by turn navigation and a choice of 3 GPS signals, however it is a bit cumbersome to set up when compared to the Wahoo Roam / Hammerhead. Food for thought for you before you make a decision, touch wood since I have bought the Garmin I haven't had an issues so far and long may it continue!
Ah brilliant. I’m thinking I might also go for the market leader too. Might just treat myself to a Christmas garmin gift. Thank you. 👍👍
@@TheBawnie or get someone to buy you a Xmas Gift 🤣🤣🤣
Boring I don’t think so, monotonous perhaps as the scenery changes very little. I wanted to know which GPS device were you using? Garmin? If yes, which model? Does it have a good map for directions/ re routing? Great video by the way. I’m gong to Dubai in a month’s time so I will try to give it a go.
Thank you for your feedback, at the time I was using my Wahoo Roam, however recently switched to Garmin Edge 1030 Plus as the Wahoo Roam gave me issues on my ultra endurance rides you can watch here th-cam.com/video/S2mzVc0lpfM/w-d-xo.html and for route planning I use Komoot.
Another good one, very enjoyable. Roll-on summer again!
Glad you enjoyed it
