เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 เม.ย. 2017
Hi, my name is Noah and welcome to my TH-cam channel, NC Mainline Productions! My main goal is to provide content of trains running down the mainlines here in the state of North Carolina. I'm based out of Cary, NC. But occasionally I will travel to other towns to witness their railroad activity. Every now and then, I'll post content on airplanes. Hope you all enjoy my content, and thank you for visiting my channel!

Hurricane Helene-delayed Amtrak Carolinian 80 In Enfield NC Under The Night Sky
Here we see Amtrak Carolinian train 80 trying to compete the rest of its route to New York after suffering multiple hours of delays caused by Hurricane Helene and the damage it left behind in NC. It was running close to 8 hours late as it coasted through this small NC town. Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this horrific hurricane. North Carolina strong!

P42DC Locomotive Startup And HEP Activation On Locomotive 22 Leading The Northbound Silver Star
มุมมอง 3674 หลายเดือนก่อน
*USE HEADPHONES* On a quick trip to the Amtrak station in Cary to watch the northbound Silver Star, ALC-42 charger 334’s “Head End Power” generator failed, providing no power to the coach and sleeper cars. This meant that the engineers of this train would switch all HEP duties to the lead P42, which required restarting the whole engine.

Amazing Video
A year later and he caught the same engine with its beautiful horn. 🫡
Where was this taken?
Is that Amtrak 79 Carolinian?
I caught him the other day leading 90 and I can’t disagree with you on the fact that this is a BEAUTIFUL K5LA, definitely one of the best ones that I’ve ever heard if I’m being honest
Cool Beans Man .... Being just dark enough for the lights to be on is awesome .....
Horn salute AND a wave! That's so awesome! Very friendly conductor.
Wow! What an awesome K5LA!
Nice job, Noah!
I like to see those new chargers. It really brings out the red on the rest of the train and makes the rest of the train look good.
Nice catch! I caught that at Potomac Shores
Is one of those crossing bells an NEG e bell or a GS Type 2, I know one of them is a GS Type 1.
It’s NEG
181 is a survivor of the DuPont, Washington Cascades train derailment back in 2017.
This is Isaiah wiley from myrtle Beach south Carolina saying hello and great amtrak video, I was born on August 2nd 2002 and from 2003-2019 I saw lots of the amtrak p42 genesis locomotives they are the best locomotives ever because of what I love about them is the locomotive horn bell and lights and when they do idling hearing that engine run is the best. 😊❤
Maybe the two silver service arrived at the same time and decided to combine them till they decide to split them again
Ay it's 184s sister
How much was the round trip tickets from NC to NJ?
Was that engineer Michael Kempf at the throttle of 47 before the crash?
I saw a Amtrak on one track today and then a intermodal train on the same track 30 secs later
Nice catch!
Every Amtrak HEP NEED TO SOUND JUST LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Nice catch. Sunset.
Thanks man! Enjoy your day.
I call it the super star 😂
When these locomotives are retired, they will probably be sold to Metrolink.
Nice K5LA!
Does that mean the P42DCs will be retired this month or will they stay in service longer?
There’s no confirmed date. People have been speculating August though.
I would have gone to see that, but it came too late to my area.
Is this the Amtrak Crescent train?
You should hear 89’s horn. It’s nice, even though it is kinda foul a horn. But I love odd train horns, so that probably makes sense to you why I love that horn.
Best horn in existence
Crossing activates ~60 secs before the train. Gates close about 45 secs before. A bit too soon.
11:16 WHOOOP
I was extremely impressed! 😄
We should name this train "The SHOOTING STAR-R" #30 and #29
Great video is there way you can do video on how ride train and where are suitcase goes I’m going to Wisconsin Milwaukee soon I’m here in MC this will be my first time can you do vlog on that and also transfer to another train and do we have take suitcase with us on each train ride how does that work
I so agree that’s my favorite P42 lol
The silver star used to be very long back in the day and would split at Jacksonville
Awesome video!! Always loved the startup of the GE Genesis
Best sounding locomotive they ever made. From the whoop to the motor idle. You can feel it rhythmically thumping you in the chest to your feet.
GE Junk you mean
You mean the locomotives that Amtrak has used since 1997? The locomotives that have reliably stayed in very active revenue service for almost 30 years and still going strong? The locomotive that beats the ALC-42's 8 times out of 10 for reliability? The locomotive that doesn't need help from an older engine in colder climates? The locomotive that is much more fuel efficient that the new ones? The locomotive that's worlds easier to maintain than the new? Yeah, I'll stick to my GE Genesis locomotives. We'll pass you going 80+ while you're in a siding trying to figure out why you're engine won't work in the freezing cold.
How is GE a piece of junk? They have been making very reliable locomotives, vehicles, and appliances for a very long time. Especially the P42.
So addictive!! 🔥🔥
Omg
I love the sound that those diesels make, especially the whoop sound that the air compressor makes when it starts up.
Thank you for this video! Im doing this same journey (NJ to NC) later this year and have never gone by train before. Nice to see what I'm getting into
I commute on the MTA Danbury line every week. The branch line diesels really know how to make an entrance compared to the main line EMUs.
Why don't autotrains go everywhere
Not everywhere has the space for a the car racks along with trying to get clearance for the longest passenger train in the United States
The alc could never 😅😂😂
Nether did I
I would have the same reaction as everyone in the video
That sounds fantastic. I actually had a cab ride in this unit almost a decade ago. Glad to see it’s still kicking and got a horn upgrade.
