How the costume is worn: Trying on the red mage hat (Final Fantasy I)

My latest costume undertaking is rather retro - a red mage from the very first FF game, and I'm trying to make it as accurate as possible. When I finished the build for the hat, well, I just had to make a video of trying it on and showing it off for the first time! ...Yeah, uhm, if it was that simple, it wouldn't be a video in this series, would it?
(I'll make another video once the entire thing is done to demonstrate how it all works in the end of course!)

For this costume, although I'm short, I wanted to make myself actually more Vivi-sized... which meant shrinking myself. Which meant prosthetics, camouflage of my actual limb lengths, and a hat I could see through. This is a costume that tends to really confuse people...

Tiger & Bunny cosplay fun at a particularly entertaining karaoke venue - The Strutt has a fun atmosphere, and no one minds if you come in looking a little (or a lot) weird and do goofy stuff. Therefore, the perfect place to have Kotetsu serenade Bunny with a song that I've always found rather appropriate...

Having built the costume for ACen 2011, I couldn't exactly look in the mirror to see how it looked when I moved in it... but I could record myself in it and play it back! Pity I had to be able to see where I was going in it - the peephole is annoyingly obvious when it's open. Also a problem in this recording - the right arm's control joint wasn't bolted in securely yet. That should be fixed soon.

Parsley is Jasmine's favorite treat, and I thought she needed a little camera time, since we've been fawning over the new girl. And plus, she gets hilariously territorial about parsley - grunting like crazy if she thinks we're holding out on her, or that the cat is going to steal it. Had to capture that.
