I knew Maybe Sprout Wings was written at the Holiday Inn Express in King Of Prussia, but I didn't know this one was too! At this point I feel like as a Mountain Goats fan I must make a pilgrimage to that hotel.

I remember when this album just came out! Back when Ryan was THE MAN WITH THE BATTLE PLAN!!! This song was track number "7" on the "Gold" album.... I remember when that track first clicked over for the first time! My best friend Philip Foresto and I were driving around after burning an offering to Ryan Adams! 😉...🪴+🗞️+🔥÷🚬={🛸🪁}... But when that track first came over the the air molecules between our ear drums and the speakers! HOLY MOLY! There's was perfect silence and then his voice softly rose from the dead silence!.... "Dancing where the stars go blue..." I just remember Phil and I looked at each other without saying a word and just started laughing hysterically at how freaking good he was at playing some music! He just had that touch, the voice, and his songs were like just too good to be real man! Like a few good ones I could understand you know happening but not hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of just song after song of amazing Just perfectness it was ridiculous man and that was only his second solo album! I think people are a little desensitized to how amazing he really is or they're just too dumb to understand and that's probably most people i think! He was like the coolest dude ever! We all knew it! I'm a musician and i know a bunch of talented musicians too, and we all knew Ryan was different!!! He was just so damn GOOD it was freaky kinda!

So glad I found your channel! You've posted so many amazing performances over the years by some of my favorite artists... I'll be revisiting often to listen to them all. Fingers crossed you recorded and can post Josh's cover of The Pogues, "Broad Majestic Shannon" he played that night at The Ark. My family travelled from Cleveland to see Josh play that night (it was our kid's first Josh Ritter concert) and that particular song was my daughter's favorite from his set. Since then we've been learning it together on guitar and having a recording from that night's performance would be truly special.

This is my favorite BTE song, though I really only like their first two albums. I still listen to both of them all the time. I just wish there was more like those but I can't get into the later albums.
