Well, long time since the last update, but I think the wait is worth it, as 'Zen' is the only way I can describe how it affects me spending as much time here as possible :-)

May 2022 - Koi Pond Extension Update

Nearly there, the Zen Koi pond & garden upgrade, should now be complete by July, so one year after the first video on it!
A new viewing point........hard on the knees though!

Whilst planting some Hakonechloa Macra around the main pond edge, it struck me that it was a viewing point I'd ignored over the years, so though it would be a good idea to publish it hear :-)

Hi there......Length including 'Constructed Upflow Wetlands' filter bed is 35 feet, width c25 feet. The depth varies between shallows of 15 inches & 30 in the depths of the first intake bed under the main waterfall. At the last test a week ago, Nitrite AND Nitrate were '0', so it looks as though the entire system is now 'Anoxic', which bears out my assertion that the bigger & more diverse the 'Biological' beds are, the better, in this case, two 'Intake' bays plus two 'Constructed Upflow Wetlands'! Where are you resident?
I will definitely be doing an intake bay and wetland filter on my pond and I’m in Leicestershire UK hopefully can get it recorded for my channel 👍🏻
