@jacintamcmenamin7701 thanks for your comment. We had no problem with the food, and we got a lot of help with the food too. I found the chefs and wait staff accommodating, and that there was always a large selection of food overall.

Hi, and thank you for your comment. I totally agree that changing ships is a great way to see everything at a better cost too. Last year, Kirk and I were on 17 ships in a row, and basically created our own "world cruise" doing it that way!

That is funny (the guy lied). What do you think of the differences between Princess Elite and Diamond Plus?

@@kirktoristory The free laundry is nice on Princess. I also like the mini bar. I don't drink alcohol, so I get it swapped for soft drinks. It's useful for getting Diet Coke in the morning before the bars open. Their nightly event for Elites is also nice. The five free drinks per day on Royal Caribbean I usually use for mocktails, and I've never used them all. I've had problems with the amenities. When I first qualified, it wasn't delivered. I asked the Diamond host about it, and apparently they didn't have the one I had picked. Instead of telling me, they just did nothing. On the last few cruises, I've also been unable to use the Diamond lounge because there is never any seating. That and a few other issues with RCI have caused me to drop them as my preferred line.

​@jeffreyclinard2002 wow, that sounds kind of frustrating on RC. I did hear that they have a really good tier system though, and that you could actually get a free cruise?

@@kirktoristory Yes. However, their top level of Pinnacle, which is apt, because it is a Mount Everest of loyalty. To get to Diamond Plus takes 175 points. Pinnacle takes 700. Most of the tiers require double the points of the previous one, and it sort of fits, but only because there are additional perks at 340; Cheers with an Officer, Reduced Single Supplement, and upgraded bathroom amenities. There are restrictions of the first two (notably the reduced supplement not available on major holidays or peak summer), while I've never been able to figure out who the upgraded bathroom amenities are aimed at. I've gotten them as part of the Elite perks on Princess and had to look up what half of them were used for. Then when it came to product, women tend to prefer their own brands, while men generally don't care. It may very well be a better system (on their side), as it take serious effort to get to the top of their loyalty chart. There is nowhere higher I can climb on Princess, and it never felt like I even made an effort to reach Elite. It was years of cruising, picking up double points as a solo passenger. In any case, I don't recommend anybody sail just for the loyalty perks. Sail with a line you like. I'm going on my third Disney cruise very soon; my first was last year, so I started out at the bottom. I'm also interested in Virgin, though with their loyalty match program, I can come in with my Princess Elite status.

@jeffreyclinard2002 interesting! Yes, we have done a couple of Virgin Voyages and have a few more booked with them in 2025. They treat you like gold with the status match. We were invited to an all you can drink party, we got $100 additional spending money, we had priority embarkation, etc. I suppose that the additional drinks won't do you any good, but you could definitely make friends by "buying" a couple of rounds for your friends with your free bonuses!

Hi there, oh wow, that would be CRAZY to get Elite status in 2 cruises. You could literally do it in 5 days if you chose the 2 and 3 day cruises. Could you imagine? Thank you for your comment.

My wife and I have done a couple 1 night cruise a week apart, Seattle to Vancouver, solo inside cabins. Solo inside cabins are much cheaper than a suite. We each got credit for 2 cruise and it only cost us $89 each for each cruise.

Also, I’m not sure why Princess is making it easier for people to get to Elite status, it makes me very suspicious though. Is there going to be another set of levels they will be coming out with?

@MitchMadruga I WISH. There are certain cruises that we have been on over the past year, where the MAJORITY of people are elite... so, it isn't as "special"... it would be great if they added more teirs.

Hi there, and thank you so much for your comment and question! Kirk and I really were impressed with Manta, Ecuador. I do have to admit, that the construction and amount of workers that we had to go by after exiting the ship was a little intimidating, but once we got past all of that, we discovered a lot of nice places! We also met a group of young students (teenagers), and spent time with them so that they could practice their English, and we could ask one another questions. They told us that they were going up to their church, so we followed them through the city, and saw a lot of nice things too. I think that the port area development is really good, and that it is well on its way to be a "top spot" for travelers. In fact, we look forward to going back again soon. Thanks again!

Hi Steven, thank you so much for your comment and question. I don't really have an answer to you about health insurance coverage, as our coverage is specific to my having been a teacher in Ontario. I have purchased a retired teacher plan that covers our trips, and I know that it is significantly less in cost that the average coverage. I wish I could do better for you and give you a better answer. Perhaps there is someone who will read this comment, or maybe I should do a future video about it. Thanks again for asking!

Also a mistake on the FCC for Princess,the amount of on board credit IS dependant on the type of cabin you are in and can be as little as $25.

I guess that the ReAl difficulty is that you don't know who your neighbour will be... it was unfortunate that we had a VERY LARGE group of people next to us, whereas if we just had a nice quiet couple, it would have probably been a lot more pleasant. @@kirktoristory They say i broke community standards. They don’t tell me what rule they think i broke! They said i can appeal which of course i did. They said i would hear regarding the appeal in a day. It’s over a week with NO response. There is absolutely no phone number to call. I sent 2 emails to addresses i found but NO response. I googled this and found they disable accounts frequently
