It is pity you didn’t speak to someone who knows Maffra and your information would be more correct and more interesting. You have only just touched on the history of this beautiful town. Lived there for 28 years and ex Chamber of Commerce President . The Chamber was the beginning of that magnificent park by the river. To my knowledge there has never been a house where that chimney is.
Not the best way to make friends by telling that the people in Maffra are rude. What is your intent with this video? 😮😮
Made me appreciate our town a little more but have to say ‘ nobody died in the balcony collapse ‘ a lot of lifelong injuries but no deaths
I loved Auckland. I was there 30 years ago.
Wow... great tour of Maffra. You walked past Dr Dempster's former rooms. What looked like a church used to be the Maffra Methodist Church (until joined with the Uniting Church).
Thank you.
A very enjoyable video about Maffra, Pierre. It's a pity the woman at the Information Centre did not mention the biggest tourist attraction in Maffra being the Gippsland Vehicle Collection museum. It attracts visitors from all over Australia as well as overseas. th-cam.com/video/RFY_xRGrbJ8/w-d-xo.html. Here is the story of the Metropolitan Hotel balcony collapse in January 1996. th-cam.com/video/ZvcbotH_GKI/w-d-xo.html
I will be heading there very soon as a separate video. Cheers
Maybe that’s just how it looks after a big footie match?
That so funny 🤣
thank you for sharing love coming on these trips around the towns and seeing many things of intrest its great again thankyou
Hi mate the granite came from Tynong Quary 👍👍
Thjank you all for watching.
We've ridden our horses through the railway underpass, and all round Garfield-great fun

Pity you didn't go to the cemetery to visit Bunyip's most famous residents, ""The Legendary Giants of Gippsland". Google search this title for the full story or visit the photo display at the "Robin Hood Hotel", once owned by Clara Snell the largest of the siblings. Clara, Anna & Tom Snell performed around the world in the mid 1800s as Giants. Clara died in 1914 at the age of 41, Anna in 1930 at the age of 54 and Tom died in 1949 at the age of 72. All three are buried in the Bunyip Cemetery. "........ The funeral of Miss Clara Snell, Gippsland's giantess, took place at Bunyip on Monday last. The remains of the deceased, weighitig about 30 st., were placed in a coffin 7 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 2 feet deep. The coffin would not fit in the hearse, so the remains were taken to the cemetery in the spring cart in which the deceased and her sister had travelled through the country when on show. The hearse was also engaged, and headed the cortege to the cemetery empty. The heavy coffin required six men to carry it from the cart to the grave side. Eight men lowered it with four ropes to the grave, amongst the men being the deceased's brother..."
I always stop in Yarragon and grab a chunky steak pie at the bakery. Yummo!
It's funny as we were walking, Donna said to me that the bakery is really good and then led me in the wrong direction.
cheers
And to you as well 😊
Thank you, I enjoyed that.
Thank you @kevindunnell7150
Howdy this is Pierre's grandson just wanted to say hi 😊

White highland terrier Pierre
Awesome, thank you.
That's it, thanks
The first thing that popped into my head was... isn't that a swamp creature? Now you have to see if there is a town called Drop Bear.
That's funny 😂
Great to see the towns i normally drive straight past. We all need to slow down and appreciate them. Love the channel.
Thanks Pierre and Donna. I enjoy your adventures.
Thanks for taking the time. Much appreciated 😊
Modern generations would be offended by Shakespeare, if they understood him.
let me guess..... because he's not 'woke'? 🤦♂️
I wouldn't be too concerned as most average people should understand that the stories made in the era of Shakespeare are of the time and that time only.
Cracking job Pierre
Enjoyed that one as well thanks mate👍👍😊😊
Glad to hear it
@@whereintheworldispierre went to the doc about the gut pain and it came down to reaction from blood pressure meds so no more surgery thank god put a new sticker in your pocket mate I need on for the frig 😊😊
Ooh I had to move out of boolarra not long ago so seeing this video about this awsome town makes me realky happy
I really like watching your vids, cool places showcased by nice people, thanks so much to you both 👍🏻
Glad you like them!
My home town. Got married in that church. Great video Pierre
Weather was working against you, but you persevered for us. Appreciate you.
So nice of you
Black coal needed for steam trains. Brown coal would not work.
Exactly, brown coal was too impure as it would leave way too much dirt after burning.
If you want, I can take you across the lake in my 8x8 amphibious atv...
That sounds like a great idea, we should organise it when the weather gets better.
@@whereintheworldispierre for me anytime is good. Hot days not so much though.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy I’d really like to see that happen.
@@RabbiJesus to be specific, we will hug the coast a little bit to avoid the chop, but it's still fun, and you get a better view, and I can bring the drone.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy epic. Ever since I was a Boy Scout I wanted to buy one of those 6x6 kits in the back of the magazine.
I hate this boring old tiny town
I very much appreciate your effort with this video. I enjoyed it and your wise words for others enjoying our beautiful countryside, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You’re always in the shed or out exploring. Does the Misses beat you? 👊 😢
Haha, I have the urge to live life and, at times, I bring my wife along for the ride.
I actually lived in the old timber pub for around 2 years
Wow what was it like?
What about one on the past of the pub that will suprise a few people
Do you mean, do a video on the pubs history?
Grew up and got married in this beautiful little town. Thank you for the video
Do you still live around the area?
Thanks for featuring Boolarra so well. Lovely town in a beautiful part of Gippsland. Did you get a hamburger at the Boolarra store? They make some of the best hamburgers around.
And the pizza's are ok as well
Don't forget the fish, chips, potato cakes and dim sims!!!
Angus young from ac/dc his father lives in pennaluna street
You're kidding me, I wish I knew.
In the states we have heritage properties known as historical landmarks. Sometimes upkeep is unaffordable to the owners because only certain craftsman and companies are authorized to perform repairs to them. So, they rot and fall down instead.
I believe that is the case here as well. Thank you.
That was good to see mate thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Reporting for duty, Sir!
I see the Grand Ridge brewery went into VA not long after we visited the pub/town, great to see it's pulled through. It's a nice little country town .
Bladdy hell KegLand you should do better serving your clients
