Mandi Makes Minis
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 เม.ย. 2020
I'm create mini worlds in 1:12 scale, and am now returning to the realm of American Girl. I'll be sharing DIY doll furniture and accessory tutorials, behind-the-scenes peek at my dollhouse construction, and even sewing tutorials to help give you confidence in creating a doll-sized wardrobe.
My doll journey began during my own early childhood, starting with Sylvanian Family figurines and then American Girl dolls. American girl blended my love for history and penchant for nostalgia in material things, but I was a make-do kiddo who was apt to use cardboard and Kleenex to construct my dolls' world. My heart belonged to Felicity Merriman, who was my favorite AG character and first gifted doll, and I later worked to save up for Addy and Kirsten. Becoming a mom to two girls was the nudge I needed to allow myself to indulge in the doll world again. I enjoy connecting with my kids through this creative hobby, but I'm definitely in it because I can't help myself- I love it!

American Girl Julie Doll Tulip Table and Chair Makeover
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I found the American Girl doll Julie's 1970s table and chairs for a great price used, but I couldn't shake the desire to transform the set into a more classic Saarinen tulip table and chairs. The transformation was pretty simple, but you'll need to know a few tricks before you set out on a similar venture! Check out the tutorial to learn more.
Mandi Makes an American Girl Dollhouse
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I've enjoyed working on miniatures in 1:12 scale, but now I'm excited to begin working on my biggest dollhouse yet. It's sized for 18" American Girl dolls, which is a dream project for a gal like me who began my AG journey in the early '90s and has been looking for an excuse to get back into it for quite some time. The cabinet frame of the dollhouse is built with baltic birch plywood by my amaz...
U made such an amazing clothing line that u inspired me to sew for my girls my dolls 🩷❤️🩷❤️. Thank amazing job
No one should "hate on" you for altering your doll. It's your doll and you're not trying to defraud a potential purchaser by claiming the doll is something it's not.
Beautiful work! I love making doll clothes and there are so many great patterns out there.
Amazing transformation!
I love sewing doll clothes and absolutely adore the details you've put into these pieces. Your custom dolls are beautiful too!
I love these outfits. One day when I have a daughter, I hope to make matching outfits for her and her dolls.
Need to know how fiddly are these to make?? I need simple and quick with no yokes and complicated add on bits. A simple one cut shape. Let me know.
I would buy that outfit you made fit Josefina in a heartbeat!!
So cute!
Your doll house is amazing!!!! We are currently working on our doll house and will be posting on our channel soon!
Just found your channel I'm enjoying your tutorials! That dress is absolutely darling! I'd love to see more of your sew a long tutorials! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us!
Love your channel, you are very talented 💕 you deserve way more subs, one of the best dolls clothes channel on here 👍
Mandi, this was sooo cute and easy enough for a young girl to follow. I would ask, however, that you give an option to the serging for those who don't have a serger. I use my overcasting foot but found that simply stitching a double row of straight stitches works for most wovens. I'm so glad to have seen the cut on the fold for the sleeves as I haven't done or even seen that before. I'm going to do it with my next doll dress so as to avoid hemming the sleeve with I use the burrito method for my lined dresses. I just think this is more in keeping with that method. Thanks so much. Best and stay safe wishes to you and yours.
This is so helpful to aspiring sewers, like myself. Hoping there will be more sew alongs! Love your style and easy to follow directions.
Came here through Carol. Watched all your videos, me and my daughter also love AG dolls! Looking forward to more tutorials!
Carol sent me over! Your outfits are beautiful, will be back to watch all your videos and I just subscribed to your channel!
Thanks Mandi! I would love to see tips on how to iron these tiny pieces without burning your fingers. 😬
That’s so cute!!
So cute! You are so good at sewing! I have that same typewriter 💕
This is so cool! I'm not the best at sewing but I do love crafts. I can't believe I didn't find your channel until now.
I'm new here, so thank you for joining me!
Mandi, So fun to see all the love you put into your creations. We have an American Girl Doll, Molly, that was a birthday gift to my daughter 32 years ago. Her legs and arms have come off and I was wondering how you fixed the arms and legs of your dolls. Looks like small rubber bands are used but there must be a trick to attaching both arms/legs. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Hi June! I love Molly and just started reading the books with my girls. I have found elastic to be a better option than rubber bands. I found a video here that was hugely helpful. I use this technique for all of my doll limb repairs, and have found restringing supplies on eBay. th-cam.com/video/BwR2OTojIec/w-d-xo.html
@@MandiMakesMinis Hi Mandy, Thanks so much for getting back to me! I appreciate you taking the time to recommend the link and stringing supplies on eBay. I can't wait to start sewing!
