One Afternoon in Matsumoto, Japan
During our last trip to mainland Japan, we took a quick train ride into Matsumoto! We didn't have a lot of time, but we still got to spend one afternoon in Matsumoto, and it was amazing. The city is very well laid out and easy to walk so we were able to see so many fun tourist attractions and try lots of fun things in a very short amount of time. So, if you are looking for some fun ideas and places to visit in Matsumoto then check out this video.

Thank you. Where can i find the names of all these places?
No problem! If you Google Coffee Collection 2024, they have a website with everyone listed on there as well as what coffee style they are known for. It’s well worth checking out.
@Jiujitsuchamploo Thank you! Tokyo is indeed amazing.
You are welcome! I hope you get to try a few of these places out.
@@Jiujitsuchamploo Thank you again. How did you find out about these events?
There are a few sites you can check but this one we just randomly found by accident. Haha
Hey Chase. Thanks for the great video! What are your favorite gyms in the Tokyo area?
Thanks, I’m glad it helps! One of my favorite teams to train with in Tokyo is Carpe Diem. They have some killer grapplers and it was a really welcoming environment.
Hey, thanks for the info here. Would you mind sharing how much you paid per square meter in the end? Did you have import duties to pay? thanks
Hey, thanks for the comment. Import duties really can vary depending on where you are and how it was marked for shipping. This time the import duties were like $150, which isn’t bad, but I have heard of people paying much more if the company they used goes about it differently. For the mats themselves, we paid around $700 for 20x20 feet of mats. The rest of what we paid was shipping and import duties, which will change based on where you are located obviously. Hope this helps!
Glad I found this one. Concise, informative, hella easy to understand and hopefully apply in class. 🤙
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for the support! 👊
Dope video brother, anyway whos the tattoo artist? whats his name? and whats the address in japan?
Thanks for the comment, his name is Horiiso and he is based in Okinawa near Kadena Airbase. You can find him easily if you go to google maps, look at Okinawa, Japan and type Japanese Traditional Tattooing. His shop pops up by the sea wall.
Class tutorial, wasted zero seconds of our time and your time, thanks brother

What is choking the second artery? The foot that comes over?
The hand that is holding the lapel does most of the choking. Your leg will cradle their head and apply the pressure as you kick through. But the lapel across the neck will be what’s finishing the choke.
Is it legal in ibjjf gi in white~purple belt?
That can be a grey area for some refs. It’s set up like an ankle lock but some referees could see it as a toe hold. We all know that risking a DQ because the ref doesn’t agree with you isn’t worth it. I teach it to all levels and tell my students to be mindful of their rule set before deciding to use it.
@@Jiujitsuchamploo thanks!! I guess i must use it during only spar until i become brown belt. Thanks for great technique btw

Very nice
Thanks, I’m glad you like the video!
When I take the back I will go for a rear triangle first. If it doesn't work, fall back to vanilla triangle. Instead of the normal armbar you can go for the type of armbar you normally hit from the straight jacket position. Step on his arm with your left leg, then lift his head a bit so you get your right leg UNDER his head and put the foot of your right leg on his shoulder. As you fall back you step with your left foot on top of your right foot to secure it in place - this is pretty strong. If he still turns into you he will run straight into a triangle.
That’s an awesome series to hit, thanks for sharing!
How can I find an artist in Osaka ?
I don’t know much about Osakas tattoo scene but it looks like you can find a guy named Horitada at Good Times Ink who does tebori. I would definitely contact them way in advance to book because he probably stays busy. Hope this helps!

Nice 👍🏼 - I couldn’t hear - shoulder lock and bicep slicer?! Looks like it.
Oss coach. You seem to have unique videos where you say, "I want to see more people use this" U made that same statement in your lat ripper video. So, with your unique approach and videos, is it possible to put someone in a bodylock while in closed guard? Is that a feasible move to break the closed guard? Thanks
I appreciate the comment, I mean it when I say I want more people to use these techniques. Haha I can’t say that I have used the body lock to pass in a fully close guard. If you want to stay low and tight like that you could try a knee cut or São Paulo pass or use your elbow to try to trap their leg to the floor. Those are all solid and tight passes. Hope that helps!
@@Jiujitsuchamploo " If you want to stay low and tight like that ", You read my mind professor - LOL Thanks so much. Just watched a video on Sao Paulo Pass and will be practicing it for sure.
No problem, I’m glad it helped!
Catch?
I spent a few of my blue belt years with a great catch guy. So a few things that I like to do are definitely still catch style.
Right
What do suggest for an Ezekiel for someone with big forearms? I’ve basically had to ditch it
The gi adds extra leverage for an Ezekiel so you can definitely get good pressure there. But with larger forearms it can definitely be tough to get your arm under the chin. If you look at my other full video you will see another choke I show on there that might help with that. If the chin stays in the way it might be a crank/crush more than a choke. But you will definitely get the pressure needed to finish.
Awesome thanks
No problem, I’m glad you liked the video!
Seen someone unsuspecting get their lat ripped by this. Bit of a dick move if you land it full power on someone unsuspecting in an otherwise competitive environment.
I agree, it’s awful if you land it full power, but so is an arm bar or anything else. Just gotta remember to always train techniques with care.
Right
Saw this a couple hours ago in class... can't wait to try again and hit it. Thnx for the content.
I’m glad it helps!
#3 was an Ezekiel choke, not a paper/bread cutter. Good stuff though!
Ah, yea I definitely mislabeled that. Good catch. Haha

Great stuff! Been trying to think of a way to get this from other positions, specifically side control. Thoughts?
I have another video on how to set up a variation of this when your opponent shoots a single leg on you. It’s has a green picture titled The Caveman Shoulder Crank. Check it out!
Great finish. I just wish I couldn't hear the nasal hair wheezes of the camera guy😂
I will let him know to breathe quietly next time. 😂
Lmao I couldn’t hear it until I read your comment.
I can’t stop hearing it now. 😂
I wonder what will be the first thing to test if he doesn’t tap? Great vid thank you.
From my experience with this sub I think you would tear a muscle in your back or shoulder if you don’t tap. It’s very painful if you try to grit through it.
additionaly it compresses your supraspinatus tendon, which already causes problems for many athletes in the shoulder. It's very painful and in this case you can't avoid tapping
Extremely painful and not worth risking the injury. I would definitely tap if i get caught. Haha
woops sorry, I meant to type the first thing to break, but looks like you understood where I was going, thank you! @@Jiujitsuchamploo
Yea I understood haha
