Fantastic tutorial from a future C&S owner! Grew up in MN and long-time sauna advocate. Cycling (hot, cold, rehydrate) is a great thing but as you said, requires careful acclimation. Also, YES to water on the stones! One thing to add, just my two cents: recommend removing any metal before going into the sauna. Necklaces, glasses, bracelets, watches, etc. Also, sauna seems like a terrible place for a smart phone (both physically and metaphysically!). But since you are the professionals, do you have a recommendations concerning those issues? Maybe I’m being too careful… 😅

My wife and I just finished building an outdoor sauna on our property on a northern gulf island in British Columbia Canada. We totally agree with what is said here, I would have never thought I would be jumping in the cold ocean in December and January and then getting into our little sauna building, yet here we are and for some reason I can’t explain the energy and great feelings it brings and it is becoming the best part of our time there.

Believe it or not but chatGTP brought me to your video! I just built a traditional Estonian (Finnish) sauna in my shed and I started looking around what would it take to build one to put it on the bay or at least dock to the pier. Found you guys. Amazing! Infrared saunas are much more advance than traditional saunas. They get 165+ and all the benefits of red light, blue light. Himalayan salt etc

As a Finn, even calling those infrared boxes as saunas is downright blasphemy. Those are nothing but a shitty ovens

Infrared sauna still has many health benefits, deeper heat penetration etc. traditional sauna is awesome but IR is still very healthy and beneficial

We have a studio complete, we cleaned up a commercial building we owned and utilized existing plumbing and electrical fixtures to build cold and hot baths and two commercial made sauna (IR and Traditional). We have been ready to open shop for over 6 months. Our city is struggling with giving us a business license, they aren’t sure if we need ADEQ approval, and ADEQ is requesting drawings and schematics by a special licensing contractor for commercial swimming pools. I would be very interested in hiring either of you for insight and guidance on how to overcome this.
