Just taking a soil sample.
Be careful in logging cutover those sticks can poke you
Judging by the mud on top of your fender he wasn't the only one to go down that day.
Nice!
Where is there singletrack in Tuscumbia? Id love to go.
It's a ride that happens twice per year, look up 7 Springs Wolf Slide
noob
What kills me is Mike just paddles right up like it was nothing. I got hung bad there too.
Good you didn’t go down in the water.
Try it on a KLR 650. My goal was to launch hard enough that I fell on the other side of the log. That kept me from having to do it a second time. I finally bought a KLX 250. Those 450lb. KLRs are a work out.
For sure, I can't imagine doing some of those trails on a bike that big. I realize a good rider can do it, but I am far from that 😉
@@alabamadirtrider Lots of padding. It was really fun but you had to handle things differently. Just twist the throttle and go in what ever direction the bike took you. Just don't let off the throttle. The bike will climb anything and never loose traction. You might have to make a new trail but you got to the top.
Those low life Swamp Rocks got you again.
Dayum what happened. Not very deep, bogged down and died?
It was a very cold morning and I couldn't feel my hands, so I dropped the clutch too fast and didn't have enough throttle when I hit that sudden uphill. Total skill issue.
@alabamadirtrider ahh
@@alabamadirtrider Is it just me or does everyone fall into the water more often during Winter?
Looks good!
The mud reminds me why I didn't go this year.
It honestly was easy to complete all the trails before the rain hit. But yeah, once it started coming down things got pretty nasty.
Is this place open year round?
No, the ride is twice per year.
I would have tried to loosen the rear axle to get the chain back on the rear sprocket then use the leverage of the wheel to get the chain unbound. You could hit it a few times like an impact. You could also put the chain on the rear sprocket and pull on the chain from the top of the swing arm, so it pulls from both directions. You would have to lean over the bike from the right side and pull the bike up into your chest. But no matter which why you go it's all a good exercise and experience.
I think the axle was basically almost all the way forward, and with the chain caught like that, there wasn't enough slack to get it around the rear sprocket.
Looks slick! Like riding on grease.
Long long time ago we were having a roost battle in a mud hole. My little 72 Kaw G4 { 10 speed 100 } died. My buddies had no pitty on me. When it was over you could not even tell what color my bike was.
Wow that kind of repair is my specialty. Compressing the back suspension ie weight on the end of the seat, will help to loosen a chain that is wedged like that.
If you don't know how to rebuild your bike with nothing but what is in your tool bag, stay out of the woods. Good job guys.
Looks like fun. Nice of me to stay and help.
For sure, we couldn't have done it without you.
Field repair! Good video! Definately making me reconsider my tool bag
Fr
His path is mantaf
It got slick really fast. Figured it would soak up but it didn't. Have to see about hooking up this coming spring
Yeah, that place holds on to water, this was the first time I've ridden it in the dry. I definitely plan to be there in the spring!
Hell of a trail to warm up ain't it. Lol
Sure was! In the spring Wave Rock is the last trail, so that's always fun too.
Was that at Stony? Looks like slick clay.
It was slick clay, but at Wolf Slide (7 Springs).
Steep, long, and wet. Videos will never do justice to what we ride.
You got that right! Action cameras always make us look lame, don't they?
@@alabamadirtrider24fps, 38mm camera zoom. You’re welcome
@oscarrameno6865 I used to record on 24fps, I like the look of 30 a little more. I leave the zoom on default since there are very limited options in the Action 4.
@@alabamadirtrider How many hours do you spend editing and downloading ? The 360 Go Pro is great but the editing time is time I could spend doing maintenance, or watching Alabamadirtrider videos.
@lamardurden8460 pulling the videos off of the SD card takes about 20 minutes, I probably spend 2-3 hours of editing for every 1 hour of video, just depends. Rendering and uploading take about 15 minutes each, so not too bad.
Looks like a fun place to ride for sure.
It's a whole different animal as soon as it rains. In the dry it's pretty easy, but when wet... oh boy.
Nice save going to the right!
Thanks! I was surprised I managed to do that.
Was there,,, Slick as crap Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning
We got caught in the rain Saturday afternoon during our second outing. I can only imagine how slick Sunday was.
I saw y’all , yall was rolling I loved the bike it’s cool watching all of you guy ride
Nice! Did you get to ride the trails too?
Those roots are no fun even on an MTB. The only thing you can do is have momentum and take weight off the wheel when it's going over. Bouncing the bike before you hit can help a little.
For sure. This fall ride felt like it was on easy mode since it was fairly dry. After it rained a little it got more slippery for sure.
Is this really a rville address? This is right in my backyard. Been there once in my frontier. Couldn’t even make it to the end of their main road for the mud holes.
Yes, it is. It seemed pretty well taken care of when we were there.
Just subscribed, enjoyed going along for the ride. We used to ride the Talladega National Forest before they closed off our areas along the power lines and CC road. Also did the local HS stuff most often over in Georgia. Back in the 90’s so it’s been a while.
Good one!
#255 never falls on accident. He did that just to make it into your youtube shorts. He did not want to feel left out...
If it were me, I would blame it on 255...
Give 'er gas!
I often do, but sometimes forget 😜
At least you’re still riding! I did something similar a few weeks back at Minooka going a little faster and broke my collarbone
Oh jeez, I'm sorry man. One of the main reasons I don't like going fast.
Looks like a fun ride. Video was really good, and good audio.
Thanks! This time it was easy mode since it didn't rain. But we went out a second time and it did rain, I'll have a video of that too.
lol that’s me on the right side of the hill at 18:30. I had just helped the kid wearing the blue riding pants, get to the top. He had stalled out and couldn’t make it up. I had just made it back to my bike when you went by.
He’s leaned up against the tree at the top. He was exhausted!
I think a lot of riders were over throttling on that hill. I try to minimized wheel spin at all times, especially on slippery hills.
You need a 150
I like the Beta 200 a lot. But I'm pretty proficient with my 300, you're just seeing my fails here.
@ just easier to maintain the weight on that hill, you’re not using the power of a 300 anyhow. Big names liek garmah Jarvis run a 150 quite often
I rode this last year and the mud was thicker than anything I have ever seen. I skipped it this year but 3 of my friends went. One broke his shoulder and one twisted his ankle. I appreciate the effort you put forth to post these videos.
I was there in that mud too, it was pretty bad. This year we completed all the trails before 1pm, so before the rain really came down, and it was much easier. We did go out a second time in the rain, that video is coming too. I appreciate you watching!
@@alabamadirtrider We need to get our group together with your group. We normally ride Talladega Forest, or Minooka but my friends are from Bham and have some local trails. We have ridden Cedar Town, the Ridge or NATRA. We had a good trip to WV to ride the Buffalo Mtn part of the Hatfield McCoy trails. I am also looking for someone to travel to Silverton, CO. this summer to ride the mountain passes. I went 2 years ago and have to go back. Videos are on my page.
I was told not to put my feet out, but to stand and use my weight for traction or loop-out correction. Just nimbly going through trees. Btw, PINE STRAW is what’s making it so slippery. Layers of it. 😎
Yeah, I try to keep my feet on the pegs, but sometimes I screw up like this anyway.
The caption "I'm really bad at this" My mind "your not bad at anything you just need practice."
Haha, true, practice makes better! I'm usually decent, but you're getting to see my mistakes.
Roots of trees are actually the worst I don’t get what makes wood so slippery on bikes
Wet wood is slippery in general, it just gets slimy, and a lot of dirt bike tires aren't sticky enough to not slide off.
Why does 255 always just sit there and watch you crash?
I think that's his favorite hobby
Is he supposed to drop his bike and run top speed to tell him not to?
Those logs suck my front tire right out from under me.
I had one of those on Saturday. My chest is really sore. Probably need to take a couple of weeks off to recover, but….
It was nice to meet you. Where did you go down? We finished all the trails by about 1pm, before the rain hit, so it wasn't too bad. But we did go out a second time and got absolutely soaked, got back to the car at 4pm.
@ you also Adam. I went down on the main loop in one of the super muddy areas lol. I whisky throttled and everything 🤦🏻
@JUGGA_NUTT we had to do most of the main loop during our second outing, in the pouring rain, it was nasty. I can see how you could wipe out hard on it.
Slippery when wet 😆
