Harley Benton's diy ukulele kit build!
I was looking for something to make when this idea came to me. I did some research and found that Harley Benton has diy kits you can buy and assemble. So I bought it allongside some other stuff you need (paint, finishing oil, sandpaper, better strings, ...).
The build itself was a lot of fun!
So if you're looking for something to do in your spare time, this is something you can try for sure. In one of my other videos I made a guitar, you can find it on my channel or by clicking on the following link: th-cam.com/video/YUNk8CLSjVE/w-d-xo.html
I hope you enjoy watching the video as much as me making it!

      Absolute! I bought it on Thomann (called "Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit T-Style"). I assume there are other websites that sell this guitar kit as well. Good luck with building your own!

    • @eppo5144
      @eppo5144 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course you don't get top quality wood and parts for this price, but I have to say that I am surprised at how good the final product is. As you can see in the video, I drilled holes in the body to ensure that the strings pass through the wood. I think this provides better playing quality and resonance. I definitely recommend buying this kit and trying it yourself if you are looking for a fun activity to do in your spare time.

    How are the tuners on these kits? My gut instinct is to immediately toss them for something better. Are they decent?

    • @eppo5144
      @eppo5144 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you buy a kit for €100 you don't immediately expect a guitar and parts of good quality, but this kit really surprised me. the parts are very good in my opinion for being so cheap. Of course you can order even better parts and use them to make your guitar better, but to just play it, the parts that come with it are certainly good enough.

    • @minkorrh
      @minkorrh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're generally a sore point. I replaced my kit tuners wit a $20 set of lockers from AliX and they are great. The originals had dead spots where the key is loose. Literal junk.

    • @eppo5144

      Yes, especially because there was already some kind of protective layer on the body. I sanded first with rougher sandpaper and then with finer and finer sandpaper until all imperfections were gone. This is very important if you are going to paint and especially if you use nitrocellulose paint like me because the smallest imperfection before painting will still be visable after painting.
