...and I'm here, lol! The map is pretty much a near 1:1 recreation of the original (and even includes imported area graphics from gen 1). I've tried to give it a bit of a face-lift with rounded edges, but all paths are the same with the same areas of grass. So re-creating this area was pretty much at the edge of what I wanted to do with the "vanilla" hack, but I felt that it would be acceptable since it served a couple purposes: a decent place to find Bulbasaur in Kanto, and with the addition of The Caterpillar 7, they offered a good thematic prize for the area as well (The doll). ALSO, there were leftover bits of data suggesting that Viridian Forrest was actually planned. It has location data and title data on the rom. So I really decided to go for it. And yeah, Harman chose the "best" bug from each of the Caterpillar's team.

Hello! Thanks for playing my ROM hack! So, each trainer here has a different bug family (like one has the caterpie family, one has the weedle, etc.) Altogether they have all the bug-type Pokemon in the game. The music is actually vanilla for the route (in the original GSC the forest was cut due to time), so no custom music. As for the trainer's names, they all DO reference a group from another game, and as you find out in your next video, in this game they collectively call themselves "The Caterpillar 7" which is a spoof on the name of the group (and game title) they pull from. It's why their grandfather (the old guy near the front of Viridian Forest) says they really get into their characters (they are just playing). You were right to notice that the levels were outside of the current curve of the area, but within what should be expected. I really wanted these guys to feel special, like a bug-catcher's victory road or something, but nothing absurd, which also makes the reward a bit more special, too. Also, their quotes are all quotes from the game they reference, which was EXTREMELY hard to do, lol because they really have very little dialogue, and I did my best to pick some stuff that fits as best I could for these pokemon battles... I'll go check that next episode now.. :)

did the algorithm choose you? I don't watch videos on mystery dungeons, I tried to play it once but in the second dungeon my entire team was defeated and I chose to go back to classic Pokemon xD I'm glad there are people like you who can play it well

Chicarita buddy and Torchic Lead, what a team! I remember playing this game on the GBSP and again when it came out for Switch. Love to see this game get more attention. Keep on pushing and remember Torchic can be BUSTED with access to fighting moves.

i LOVE pathologic. I've over 150 hours in the game, I've done multiple playthroughs of every character. Haruspex is my favourite gameplay-wise and I'm between Bachelor and Haruspex for the favourite storyline. I like the Haruspex storyline but I think because Bachelor is an outsider, and the Kains are weirdos, it makes his storyline a bit more mysterious, while the Haruspex story is more contemplative and dives deeper into the culture of the town. Changeling, unfortunately, was clearly an unfinished character, so while playing her is great for filling in the gaps and everything, and her magic hands are kinda fun as a gun-type defense, she's clearly inferior to the two others

Its rough that dark is special in gen 3 and all attacks dont receive the attack/special split til gen 4

hii great video! As for the Professor Layton games, I have to say that I enjoyed the filler chapters much more than the ones that continued the story, in fact my favourite game is Professor Layton and Pandora's Box!

man the OG hoenn legendary battle songs really did not mess around. Rayquaza/groundon/kyogre themes conveyed that you're about to be in deep water if you didn't come prepared (maybe not a problem as an adult but as a kid maybe your party isn't fully healed, may or may not have coverage, might have pissed away your masterball/not brought a lot of pokeballs), the regis themes make you feel like you shouldnt even be there and has an almost nervewracking tension to it, and deoxys kinda has a spastic blend of epicness and discord that makes it sound like you're on a space ship and something's gone wrong, atleast to me that's the vibe i get
