Do a yea gnar breakdown, that would be sick
@@Jayden_Bloomfield Would love too, but I'm not in Welly anymore unfortunately.
It has been rebuilt, you should come and do an update video.
@@cunning-stunt Would love to, big fan of this track. Unfortunately I'm not living in NZ at the moment.
Rode it today in the rain, it looks dry in the video. It's been raining pretty much all summer this year. The dirt is super grippy but the smooth rock and roots are just death. I learnt a lot about braking on the dirt but not on the roots. Front brake off over the root then rear brake off over the root. Like playing a pinball machine hitting the flippers, but you are also the ball. The chutes/corners are something else especially towards the bottom. It makes me wonder just what the limit of trail rideability is. A great trail but would go in from third house next time rather than Black diamond off Fringe hill peak. Black Diamond in the wet was a waste of energy, way too much climbing up over thousands of roots.
dude, thanks for posting content that's just the trails. subd cos you making the kinda videos I wanna see. no BS voice over, no over exaggerated trail hype or lame music. keep it up!
India is not for beginners, but I am glad you guys are pro 😊
Watching from philippines
dang. pretty narrow through there
Always like your riding skills, so confident and control. going to hit Pohatu -> starfish today.
@@Joe123Jackol Cheers! Enjoy your ride.
I rode this today and you certainly made it look a lot easier than it is.
@@PaddyQuiggin Welcome to the GoPro effect 😅
How much did this trip cost approximately? Me and my friends are thinking of doing the same in 2026! Awesome video😄
I love it
Wow cool video
Sending the 2 gaps outta the right hander like a pro 🌶️
Wilson Dorothy Lopez Michael Young Donna
Vapour trail is way scarier
Made that look shockingly easy mate, took me so much self talk to get over that rock roll lol
@@JoshuaNeil-n5v Cheers man, I'd just come from Squamish so it felt very manageable in comparison 😅
Sick I was the kid with the cracked rim and I did end up hitting last on main line
@@JordanDavid-zl1oc nice work!
rad.
That was sick mate, nice riding! Some of those jumps are huge!
@@BikesnLikes Cheers man! It's a tricky line to get right.
What bike you on bud ?
It's a Norco Sight, the '21-'23 version.
Did you guys have the 2-stroke or 4-stroke version?
@@zeinmoussa6829 Both were 2-strokes.
@@TrailAtlas amazing, I'm starting this adventure next Monday. Also blessed with a 2-stroke!
very tidy..sub'd
Hey what tires do you usually run (for Welly in winter/in general i guess)? running maxxis recons 29x26 front and back and wonder what might be better for the mud/clay
@@monstamossie I usually run 29x2.4 tires. I love Michelin Wild enduros but they're hard to get, I'm also keen on Magic Mary front and Big Betty rear. I run the same tires year round.
@@TrailAtlas legend thanks
A few weeks ago I had to satisfy some curiosity and walk this. You make it look easy... there were some humongous steep drops there. I won't ever ride this. To gauge this, I can sometimes clear Ridgeline and Deliverance, and I'm very comfortable on advanced trails. Ka pai 🤙
That looks wicked, so fast. Are they gaps? Hard to tell on the video.
@@MTB_James they're all tables and doubles, no gaps. Great line for improving jumping skills!
Wicked, thanks. I can't wait to get back down there.
Subscibed
I know this video is old - but as someone relatively new to mtbing the go pro effect is real in this one! I've watched your videos a bunch of times to get my head around makara trails which has been super helpful, but arrogantly after a lot of rain took the bike down trickle falls yesterday. Holy shit this track is mental! We could only ride like one feature and walked our bikes most of the way (which is also difficult). The whole way down me and my buddy were saying how the f do people ride down this 😂 Anyway your skills are amazing man, really put my lack of into perspective. Massive ego hit haha. Back to the drawing board!
@@monstamossie Thanks man! The very first trail I rode when I moved to Welly was Trickle falls in the pouring rain, I don't think there could have been a more appropriate introduction to Wellington trails! I'm glad you've found the videos helpful. I always say double the size and steepness of what you see in the videos and you'll get a more accurate representation. Keep trying though, you'll get there in time!
@@TrailAtlas been enjoying your new stuff in aus too. Hope all is going well for you over there! Those trails look like they might be a bit too easy for ya haha
Epic , nice riding mate 🍃
this guy blessing us with 3 videos in one day, two G6s and a G5, spicy ride that. good shit.
@@tbc_mtb Thanks man, glad you're enjoying them. It's not often a whole new MTB park opens so I had to make the most of it!
@@TrailAtlas be rude not to eh.
So a short to mid travel bike are best for most of the current Mogo trails? Anything else there that warrants anything bigger. Cheers!
I've only ridden the trails from Mogo Trig, heading back out today to scope out other areas of the MTB park. A short-mid travel bike should be fine. Even the double blacks could be ridden on a trail bike. They're mainly flow trails with a few rocks.
Sweet, heading that way soon so deciding which bike to take. Thanks for sharing.
I have ridden most of the trails from the botanic gardens trail head , and from Mogo town centre trail head , i agree that a mid travel bike will be fine
I came here to see if Jurassic could be a good wet weather track for around Nelson... I got my answer!
@@philthy4654 everything in cable bay holds up well in the wet. There are a few trails in Sharlands that are good too.
@@TrailAtlas A couple of the easier tracks at CB are OK in the wet, but I wouldn't like to ride Deliverance or Poacher haha. I was just thinking of Jurassic because its such a good track and quite rocky in that stream bed, but it is still quite rooty. Nelson struggles in the wet due to so much clay around, we would really benefit from a good wet weather trail.
Great riding bro 👊 How aren't you getting more views, this is great!
Thanks man! Glad you're enjoying it.
Wow … you’re an amazing rider. That track looks well beyond my capabilities.
Cool and satisfying
Great riding mate. What a sick trail 🔥🤘
@@huckyeahmtb Thanks man! Love the Cascade trails.
Congrats Captain Stuart
No Hoz?
Bro! What an absolute epic adventure with your mate. Such a well done doco. Incredible footage too.
Cheers! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Lazy fern is an easy trail but it’s so nice to ride
Good....but not as good as my adventure... search rickshaw run official be inspired
Amazing - watched end to end.
Thanks Mark! Glad you enjoyed it.
New camera looking good 👌 sick track, I'd fancy a bit of that now im getting into the grade 5s.. 🤘
Thanks man! Good on you, what G5s have you been getting into?
@@TrailAtlas cheers bro! Umm.. V&A (more of a G4.5, minus the drop - goal to get that done this year), TTS (sort of lol, only done it a couple times and only the baby lines so far), Deliverance, Ridgeline and Vertigo all very close to getting them clean top to bottom, thinking ill tick them off next time I ride them.
One of those ones you can make as spicy as you want? Looks super sick!
Definitely! Super fun for all skill levels.
Harder than Yeah Gnar?
Hmm, that's a tough call. It's very different terrain. I'd say it's pretty similar in difficulty. This is also considered one of the easier double blacks in Squamish 🤯
Sicko! Rad looking track 🤘
What a lifetime of memories you have created in this trip.
Things I wasn't expecting: @1:00 "oh boy" and then the sound of a fucking goat dying. 😂 mean riding as ways bro!
Haha there were a lot of unexpected challenges on that track! Not to Mention my mate Harrison picking up half a tree in his cassette!
@@TrailAtlas good bit of trail maintenance, onya Harrison.
Damn you go too fast to really see the track ;)
This looks like the kinda trail that makes me be like "feeling a bit off today, fancy just having a flow day today" and then all the crew hating on me but secretly they're stoked too.
