Why don't they make a combination of an elbow long armored glove, a small shield around the fist area and a 4-5 inch long spike in the centre?he could defend any strike and deliver blows himself with it.
Sharp spikes are illegal, but what you are describing sounds similar to a punch shield. Which come in various shapes and sizes. The disadvantage with something like that or a punch shield is mainly the extra weight and while good at range, it's cumbersome in close range. Some prefer punch shields some prefer small bucklers for close range fighting. The choice is up to the fighter

Well this was an unexpected recommendation, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Are submissions allowed in this form of combat?
@LoreTunderin submissions are not allowed, mostly because it is very hard to feel a tap in the armor and very dangerous for the ref to intervene if something goes wrong. Stabbing, submissions and strikes to the back of the knees are all illegal
I want to do this. So badly. I was born to do this. I can feel it.
@dfektdysfunkshun6215 Look up a local club in your area, Knight Finder on google is a great place to find one. Most clubs have loaner gear you can try to see if this sport is right for you 👍
