There is no other way to practice drawing lines than to draw them a lot. You have to draw a lot, a lot more. I've been using pen tablets for more than 20 years, but in fact, I've rarely drawn using a pencil or ink. It's close to zero. (Of course, I used pencil and ink before writing pen tablets.) It's my personal opinion, but it's true that using a good pencil can help you use pen tablets. But I can't say for sure that it's essential.

@@tahraart When did you started to get efficient in creating characters like in a day or some hours time span? Like in which year of your art journey specifically? I am having trouble finishing my characters most of the time. As I study anatomy I got way faster but this time my struggle is clean line art and line value. I always wanted to make clean line art and flat colour style of designs. But line art is way harder than even the fully polished paintings sometimes. By the way I am intermediate and returned to my fundamentals heavily this year.

@@devilichus Well, it's been a while since I've been a professional in the art field of gaming this year. I used to be and I'm still doing the same, I spend a lot of time a day painting. I think I spend at least 6 hours a day every day. (My physical strength was stronger when I was young, so I could work longer :D) I copied a lot of my favorite artist's paintings when I was young. I especially drew a lot of lines, and I wanted to have a feeling of them. I never drew them fast in performing them. I repeated them slowly, but until I liked them for sure. I recommend setting your goals a little narrower and clearer. There are so many art in this world that looks good, but so many different options confuse me. The overall basics are important, but it's also important to dig into one or two things that I like. Therefore, you should also clarify your taste. It will make your goals narrow and clear.

@@tahraart As my taste, I admire your detailed line art rendered designs, especially the intricate characters you create, like Tooth Wu and Feng Zhu's works which I also admire. This year, focusing on anatomy has significantly improved my skills. However, I still struggle to finish drawings cleanly and often redesign elements for accuracy, realizing the gaps in my visual library. Maintaining line quality in digital mediums is also hard for me. I'm currently studying fully rendered master artworks to enhance my finalization skills. Could you please share your insights on how to improve my perception of proportions?

In the first case, it was just a pattern that was drawn naturally as usual. However, when the direction of blue and white porcelain was determined, it was redrawn by referring to the actual patterns of blue and white porcelain. As a result, I think it might not seem like much of a difference.😄

That is a stroke effect. Right-click on the layer - Blending Options - Stroke. This is an effect that automatically creates an outline for everything you draw, so you can set up a number of additional options. Brush pressure and texture are added to it. Try it with various option settings and various brushes.

It’s a midtone which it’s easier adjusting values like dark shadows and highlights, other technique it’s using a tonal midtone for the color skin but it’s harder to know if it’s the correct value

In my case, 1. Once the entire area is painted, it is easy to designate a continuous area. 2. If the background is white, it is easy to grasp the entire silhouette shape of the character. 3. I like the feeling of mixing gray and other colors. And it's similar to @pablolarreategui9489 's comment, It can choose a more stable color. It's just my case, so you don't have to do this! There are countless ways to paint.
