❤❤❤ Excelente ❤❤❤ La mejor prueba que he visto.

How did that wire not literally cut your fingers open during the winding process???
The wire is really thin and brittle and will break before it cuts through anything.
Thank you. very helpful
I wonder why you didn't let the glue cure for 4 days or close to that instead of over an hour. does the glue have a very quick drying and curing time?
I've enjoyed this series and wondering where the final episode is and would really enjoy seeing the final product.
Episode 12 is now in the editing room.
it doenst matter if you string up a shard from the dark crystal, a 2x4, a piece of wood from stradivarius's The Messiah violin, air, or leo fender's mom's brazier, it wont change tone. its amusing to me the ignorance of electric instrument players.
Why can't you cut the wire at the pick-up end would that be easier
This is the most straight forward one I’ve found thank youuuu
Why not waxing the coils before putting the covers on?
In order to prevent cover vibration.
@@coilsboutiquepickups I think that vibrations could be better avoided with coils immersed in wax previous to be encapsulated or waxed in the capsule and then put the cover on it. Just like the procedure of transformers manufacturing
@RGalindoM we sometimes do as you suggest when requested by some customers, and it always creates some form of microphoic effect. It's not a matter of good or bad, just different concepts of performance and need.
No AlNiCo 6?!
I absolutely love gluing up these types of headstock breaks. They're the easiest breaks to glue up & repair because of the incredible amount of surface area to glue anyone can do this particular type of headstock repair and I mean anyone. Great job 👍🏾
great video ! Could you please give the best hights for a good lower action at the 12th fret ? For acoustic guitar and for electric guitar ?
It doesn't work this way. Many variables like type and gauge of strings, scale length, fret condition, and playing style change that measurement
Question... Someone told me that changing the 6 screws on a pickup can change the tone... How true is it? Assuming I find pickups with similar lenght?
It is true. Screws made from different metals and alloys will change the tone of the pickup.
Non-magnetic screws ruin your sound. Magnetic screws will be sound pretty similar.
Perfect explain, Have you video for bridge sadels filing on Les Paul?👍👀
Oh, thanks for the idea! We'll try to make a video about that.
how come one bobbin gets screws, and the other gets slugs?
That is just one design.. you can make two slugs or two screw sides as you wish
@@coilsboutiquepickups I am really new to the guitar in general, what differences does it make?
Screws are adjustable, so you can balance string volume better.
Don't! Too heavy. SG's are known to break at the headstock and also neck to body joint. Lockers are too heavy.😊
Don't drop your guitar on its headstock, and you won't have that problem! 😊
Making an own pickup is a way too much. Unbelievable.
Wow great job, when you put all the glue on and started sanding I got nervous. Flawless repair!
Thanks 👍
I am new to pick up winding. I really like the copper tape idea I'm definitely going to start using that. 😊
We never stop nutting!!!🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥
Hey, can you give me a little help? I'm trying to recondition an old "mini humbucker" pickup (similar to Seymour Duncan's "Everything Axe"), and I'll follow this tutorial. I'll be using something around 42 AWG copper wire, but my question is: how much wire do I need to use to get at least at 9k ohms? Preferably 10-12k I'm asking that because the wire is sold by every 100m, and I don't know if that will be enough or too much 😅
tbh i was expecting a p90 *mounted* on the pickguard. ps: luach yafe brah
Does it work the same way with Humbucker.
Basically, yes.
Hi what's the height of the spacer though? And does that measurement apply generally of just these kind of pickups?
Hi, the height of the spacer is a measurement that is in relation to the tone you wish to create. There's no right or correct measurement
@@coilsboutiquepickups Oh okay Thanks man. Honestly I'm new to all this guitar building stuff so😅. I've read a number of articles and watched a lot of videos on guitars and have come to realize a lot of things are actually up to the builder's discretion lol. Shalom and God be with y'all!!
@Kay-br7by Thanks. If you need personal assistance, you can always e-mail me at Service@coilsboutique.com
Exactly. It’s all about the sound the individual puts out and what they think sounds good.
Does it matter what size it is? Does it have to be 24.5 or 25 etc. If not can you work out the fret spacing for any length? Thank you.
There are calculators for fret positioning for every scale you desire
@coilsboutiquepickups Ah ok that's great thank you for confirming!! Cheers
Your'e the best
GREAT VIDEO :)
Would say that is dangerous suggestion for someone new to filing nuts. Usually poeple tend to overfile anyway. With the proper suggested guage that match's the sting it's very easy to make the slot wider. Starting off with a wider guage can make the slot too big and cause unwanted vibrations. Its always easier to widen a slot until it's not tight and glides thru easily with no friction. it's impossible to do the reverse without filling the slot and starting over or replacing the nut. Your advice is fine with someone who has lots of experience. as you've learned (hopefully) how to file properly and get a feel for it. CHeers.
Sounds great you obviously have quite a talent for making pickups as well as playing guitar itself.... playing the guitar is definitely the reason I am on this planet ...but iam more of an extreme metal enthusiast and am curious how your pickups sound and react to high gain distortion thru a double rectifier boutique or tube amp and to modern deathcore techniques like wild artificial harmonics and harmonic pick scraping ECT... Also I have some ideas to add to the pickup formula to push the envelope of that in your face metal tone
I had to drill new holes replacing tuners on my PRS with grover locking tuners. Holes for the original didn't match up.
Great as always!
Listen Kids, these comments are still focusing with measurements instead by ear ... I have 50 years plus playing in making a very nice living... I dial in my various strat's pickups by the amp I'm using... Yes, you can start with 1/16th height, but get use to using your ears ... I assure you that pro's uses their ears as with their techs when the pros have them 😅😅😅😅😅. Measurements are general guidelines, and you surely don't have to shake the Bible to them 😅😅😅😅or
I like the warm and rounded mids of the Alnico 2, but also the brighter punchier sound of the Alnico 4. I wonder how it would be to mix them AL2 neck and AL4 bridge.
Interesting!
Awesome way to do a comparison. Perfect
Great video, but I am confused about one thing, maybe I missed something. If you connect the red and white wires together to use the whole pickup as a humbucker, how do the two coils connect in series?
Hi, we connect the green and red together. White and red are the start and end of the coil
Thanks for the video. What is the correct angle to file the nut? The same angle of the string?
I usually file to a tiny bit more than the string's angle, but really, just a bit - so I won't scratch the headstock.
@@coilsboutiquepickups Thank you so much

What if a have a guitar with a matte finish ? Specifically an Epiphone Emily Wolfe signature in black ?
Hi, matte finish is a completely different scenario, and can only be finished to an invisible repair by spaying new lacquer
I bought two A500k pots and one of them read to 460k and the other one is 520k. Its okay to use the 460k? Which one is good for volume and tone? Pls I need answer.
Hi, it's ok to use both. Pots aren't always super accurate. I'd use the 520k as a volume to brighten up the sound a bit
@@coilsboutiquepickups thanks bro ♥️

No need to buy a new pickguard!!
Well done repair this is the way the late Mike Lull did my Gibson 30 years ago and it has held up all this time no trouble with 12s. ❤ I am not a fan of the epoxy adhesive repairs you see a lot of on TH-cam has no place in repair except some cosmetic filling.
Thank you. This is a superb video and so generous with your knowledge.
I love you. You are a professional.
