Thank you for this. I never knew Scott & Turner met, much less interacted on one of the author's projects.

Just finished reading Pearson's short bio of Scott before I dig into my collection of his world which I have been collecting over the years. Sadly I just discovered this presentation today....a year after the celebration of his life. No mention of such here in the USA. Better later than never! And I'll think of him everytime I don my clergy tartan kilt and play my pipes!

4:20 didn't anyone point it out to her that's not the way to sit in front of a camera? Was she showing her dirty boots to the audience? I mean what is that way of sitting and talking? Other than that, an excellent ode to Sir Walter Scott, and he definitely deserves more recognition.

Sir Walter Scott is my favorite Romantic. Odd that he's seldom included in the same breath as Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Keats, Shelley et al. I guess that's because he's in a league of his own. Thank you for this presentation.

Excellent program. This is the first I've heard of the250th anniversary. By coincidence, I've only just started reading Scott. In purusing a shelf-full of his works at the local library today, it's astounding that a single human-being could be capable of such a tremendous output, though Dickens comes to mind. I enjoyed the brief-clip of the Scott portrayer in this, seen at his desk writing, then petting his dog. The portrayer really resembles the man. Light-show was great, too. Scott's novels certainly are set in a truly-magical landscape!

At his best he was the equal of Dickens or Victor Hugo . He was the inspiration for many others. Conan Doyle often expressed his ambition to write historical fiction that would match that of Scott . His " Micah Clark " was a good example. Unfortunately Conan Doyle got sidetracked by a certain Mr Holmes.....
