French Cleats - Tool Holders Designed to Lock onto French Cleats. Major Issue : SOLVED
In this video I introduce a new approach to French Cleat tool holders.
There are various options available but they all rely on the "CleatLock" or "CleatStop" backer.
If there is interest in 3/4" versions I can also look at making those. Overkill in my opinion, but if there's enough demand I'd be happy to look at those as well.
Anyone making other tool holders that want to collaborate on providing a locking system for French Cleats feel free to let me know.

From Solo to Batch CNC Production - Ways to Maximize Profits
มุมมอง 1152 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I compare and contrast the duplication methods found in both Carbide Create and Carveco Maker. Both approach the "copy" function differently with each having their own benefits and downsides. What remains the same is the need to be able to copy an existing design and toolpaths and generate the needed code to produce that object in batch fashion. The easier it is to do that - the l...

Porter Cable 6 Inch Jointer Review

This is a quick review of the Porter Cable Variable Speed 6-Inch Jointer. As an entry level benchtop machine it's quite capable and sturdy while remaining portable. Dust collection is through a port on the side which can be hooked up to a shop vac or via an adapter to standard 4" dust collection systems. Overall, for the price this is a good machine to make quick work of both edge jointing and ...

CNC - GSender M6 Tool Change Code with Touch Plate on my LongMill

CNC Touch Plate Z Zero after Tool Change with GSender and LongMill
มุมมอง 2.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In moving more of my work to my LongMill CNC, I was having to work around tool paths for tool changes until I delved into the macro world for GSender. In version 1.0.5 there's a "Tool Change" setting where you can specify what to do when GSender hits an "M6" tool change command - but Carbide Create doesn't use "M6", it uses "M0". While I thought this was going to be a downside, I explain in the...

Bought one and sat on it for over a year before assembly, that was a mistake. The lock of the plate hadn't been threaded at the housing. I had to come up with a solution. My thought is.... just Chinese junk. Just like the last 5 Chinese items I'd bought.

For my purposes there would be a lot of parts left over, lol. I don't need the base, the bags or the drum that holds the bags. All I need is the motor and the fan/housing. I'll be mountin the motor vertically so the exhaust shoots straight out instead of up and I'll be exhausting it through a straight 4" pvc pipe through my garage wall out the back of the garage.

My saw must have been dropped in shipping. The legs would not go together so I had to cut relief cuts so they would align. Then I found the power assembly was not in the trunnions. Will have to remove one of them and then realign the blade so it is parallel with the guide. Great fun!

I returned the first one I bought from Lowe’s on June 28, the flange for the blade was put on the wrong side of the saw blade and was tightened down so the flange was press fit on the arbor when I received the saw, I pried the flange off of the arbor then assembled the blade, flange and the nut correctly but when I rotated the blade it wabbled. I called Delta and explained the situation to customer service and said I would like Lowes to come and pick up the assembled saw and exchange it for another one and Delta said to have Lowes return it to them and replace it with a new one. Lowes delivered the new one July 1. Lowes was very accommodating. I have not started assembling or checked out the new saw yet because of a medical situation. I will update my comment as soon as I verify the assembly.

The reason people cut an hex key is to modify their saw. In order to mount a router table between the rail extensions the spreader bar has to be turned upside down. In order to do that the carriage bolts between the front rail and fence guide have to be loosened, and that's a tight space. The alternative is to disassemble and reassemble the front of the saw. I agree cutting a wrench from a decent set isn't a great idea. However, being everything that needs assembling comes with hex keys, including this saw, I have no issue cutting one out of the junk drawer full of them.

I believe the people that have experienced issues with the motor are running it on a 15 amp circuit. I run mine on a 20 amp circuit and I've used it almost daily for two years. I built a box to fit between the rails to the right of the table. The top fits flush to make a wider table and lifts off to make a great storage area for pushers, zero clearance inserts, etc.
