Thanks for the review!! Can the phone and line out output be used simultaneously for example phone jack as an monitoring usage and the line-out to the PA
it is eyes-catching!
I didn't expect there to be such a difference between the setups, true to your word the custom setup certainly sounded much fuller and dynamic. I have a question though. I've been looking into possibly getting a carbon fiber instrument for gigs and teaching (my poor wooden one has some scuffs from students 🥲) and was curious are there many differences between the various Mezzo Forte lines? The Premium sounds lovely here and now I wonder how the others compare
What bow are you using with it?
Double bass
One word, harsh
You can't change the chin rest so i wouldn't buy it
i do not play violin, but the sound is amazing.
good vid. The CF violins add another dimension to the world of violins. For daily instruction, practise, learning etc, cannot be beat. Great for bluegrass-type gigs. They might reduce the demand for woods, so perhaps fewer forests chopped. But for true classical sound, they are not at all close. Definitely, the Luthier setup makes a huge improvement.
what strings are on this violin?
sounds really low for this video. both computer and youtube sound set to max and can barely hear.
I have never played a violin, wooden or CF, so forgive me. I thought the carbon fiber violins would sound like plastic, but they sounded surprisingly warm and full.
Is that the reason how the walls of your shop are very barren, to help the reverb in the shop ? Or is that pure new shop design interior ?
Speak up man, can't hear a thing!
You've plugged your amp into the Phones output. Is that on purpose? The Line Out is further down, below bridge height. Also, it is helpfully angled towards the floor.
I'd like to offer my condolences for your friend, Mitchell. I've learned English from him through TH-cam for more than 10 years. I'd like to express my gratitude to him and so do you happen to let me know where he was buried? I'd just like to visit and pay reverence at a tomb of him later. Thank you and hope you're holding up well.
Would the custom bridge be a separate purchase, if investing in one of these instruments from the website?
Hi Peter! Yes-it would be a separate purchase. Thank you for watching!
Was it a 909 or a 925?
Can't hear anything!
Thank you for watching! Sorry, the volume is too soft on this video. Make sure the volume it turned up through TH-cam, and through your listening device, and it should work!
@@lutherstrings still soft. can still hear.
What a surprise! An amazing take on "After You're Gone". When he starts playing chords on the violin behind the guitar at 2:26 wow! You don't see that everyday in Jazz. A true trading of 4 bars between two musicians listening to one another. Thanks for posting!
I like viola. Mine is from Austria and might be from year 1880. I prefer the viola sound over violin. It's more rich and powerful. I have 2 violins too.
Hi Chris, What amp do you recommend for this cello? I heard they don't all bring out the rich cello sound and that there might be some technical requirements to look for.... I have no clue what to look for. I got this model used from someone so I'm on my own figuring it out. thanks!
I have the same question
@@tioliak Fishman Loudbox Mini or Fishman Loudbox Artist.
I have a hybrid version so not sure if I can change out the the bridge easily but I would be interested in trying to take some if the harsh edge of the acoustic sound. Would changing strings help even without changing the bridge? What strings did you use to get the warmer sound on the Mezzo Forte in your video? Thanks.
Hi Oleoblue! Strings can definitely help! Unfortunately carbon fiber instruments all have different personalities like wooden instruments, just not a varied. While most tend to have a brightness to the sound, they don’t respond the same way to different strings. For this cello, a combination of different Perpetual strings worked well in addition to our custom setup of a bridge and a soundpost!
Not to mention in 30 or 40 years when the resins associated with the carbon fiber breakdown the instrument WILL self destruct
What kind of strings and bridge are you using on the custom setup?
Custom Bridge is made by our head luthier Philip, and the string selection varies based on what each instrument likes best! :)
I can't find these violins on your website
Just Updated the Website! :)
Cant hear😥
Thank you for watching! The volume is soft for this video, but if you turn it up through TH-cam and on your listening device, you should be able to hear it. Please let me know if that doesn't work!
Sadly the mobile app doesn’t allow for good volume adjustment. But I could still hear a marked difference in the fullness of the tone. Your setup sounds rich with complimentary overtones and harmonics yielding a smooth full sound.
do they come in other sizes such as 7/8?
Hello! Unfortunately these only come in full size, but the scaling actually runs on the smaller side compared to 4/4 Acoustics, and getting around the fingerboard should also feel a little easier due to the lack obstacles! Otherwise, our Luthiers would also be able to shave down some of the neck to make it thinner, etc. :)
Hi Chris! I love this silent cello, works great for quiet practice in my apartment. I have found that the "Hercules Acoustic Cello Stand" actually works well for holding this instrument upright when not playing it. (And the Hercules Guitar Clip-style works well if mounting on a wall.) here's a video review of the Hercules Cello stand by Jonathan Humphries - th-cam.com/video/SQTfYVZlOL8/w-d-xo.html
