Nissan d40 alternator problem

Was making a clicking sound under load when motor was cold. Problem was the decoupler pulley on the front of the alternator was worn. Cheap and easy fix don't let them tell you you need a whole new alternator for $1400 when you can change the pulley for $150.

Good video. Thanks mate. But just a suggestion though, from the look of the finished job, maybe a neater fix would have been to cut a slot in the top of the rubber just big enough to feed the bracket through. Then, if you ever wanted to remove the racks, you could just fill the slot with a bit of black window gunk sealer. But thanks again for all the details, I have the same vehicle and will look out for that rack. Cheers

Did you use all 4 door actuators or did you just use one for the drivers door ?
You are the only one who mentioned pull before the alarm stops.
Does a d22 not already have a lock actuator if it’s already central locking or is it needed to be installed to use buttons
d22 only has lock actuators on passenger doors. key only on drivers door. nissan are cheapskates for doing that!
O man....guys dont let your alternator pulley sounds like that for long..other wise it will damaged the bearing inside.and hardly removed the shaft..luckily im sending to the right workshop..

Bro my door won't lock from inside or outside on my 22. Any suggestions?
Must be something wrong with the lock mechanism as the inside lock and the outside both connect to the lock mechanism via steel rods. Fairly basic system, perhaps the rod has fallen off.

@@michaelball3191 I ended up spraying the lock with crc and it did the trick. Must of been seized and it loosened it up straight away

Boat gets on the plane at a much lower speed and stays on the plane until your almost stopped. Possibly loose 1-2 knots of top end speed, helps a small amount to stop prop cavitation in rough seas,

Good on you bro bit of time and patience and you figured it all out from the 2 stage lock mechanism system to wiring and understanding the practicality of everything definitely makes sense for myself trying help someone else with theirs cheers
Did he use the original actuator wiring mate? Or just new wiring with new box?
All original wiring as such. Just installed the control box and actuator that came in the kit and found a 12v feed for it. The kit is controlled by the key chain remotes, so I now have a remote to lock and unlocked the car. Previously I had to do it the old school way and put the key in the door lock.

Aww crap. Mine had been there for awhile, d car factory quoted me usd 1k+ for replacement of the whole thing:< without even seeing if it can b fixed. Seems lotsa people have this parts acting up.
lol oh dear mine was doing this but the noise sounded like it was coming from the rear of the engine not long after it turned into a squeel long story short started it the other day n the friggin pulley fell off n it had shaged what i thought was the alt shaft so i bought a new one only to find out after it was just the sleeve that was rooted n it cones off so ya can put a new pulley on it. so the new 1 i got it without the clutch pulley
bradumus j Think same thing has happened to mine. I will take a pic tomorrow. The shaft looks very smooth. My pulley has landed in the bottom of the engine - will dig it out tomorrow
The original Nissan OEM part number is : 23151-EB30A and I purchased on Ebay UK the Pulley made by INA part # 535017710. Easy change under 40 USD.

did you replace it with a genuine nissan pulley or an OEM...If so please state make and model.
When cold or light lit up, this increase alternator load and the clutch slip intermittently and results in the metal squeak. Am I correct?

+GTR LAW That's what I am thinking. Same sort of noise coming from my wagon as well. seems that all the pully's are working fine with mine. Tried to tighten the tension pully but that has not stopped it. 500euro for the new alternator here in Ireland. :(
You can just buy the pulley from your local auto factors. Mine cost 70 euro. 😃

There's a spline tool you need but you can improvise. As long you can hold against the bearing you can loosen the pulley. My altenator light came on briefly as well.
