I appreciate any analysis of these kinds of games, but I’m not having any of these combat issues. I know it was patched tho. but I parry consistently (I never get hit by shields), constantly use pistol combos, no enemy except gunners and bosses take more than a few seconds to kill, gunplay feels great, dealing with multiple enemies feels great and natural, swordplay feels great, all the attacks have a purpose and can work smoothly together once you’re familiar with the animations and guard cancels, Hannah’s hp can be “upgraded” by some skill nodes that apply defense, I love the rifle and customizing it, likewise the pistol is super cool… overall it’s just a beautiful combat system that they seemed to achieve on a limited budget in a market that doesn’t really even care about such games. small scale masterpiece as far as I’m concerned.

I LOVE THIS GAME! I beat the cat-ears difficulty, now I'm doing my "normal" difficulty playthrough.

What I hated about Daemon X Machina is how the story is. I honestly feel there was suppose to be decisions that the player was suppose to make by how the you interact with other characters and conflicting missions with other "ravens". I hope in the squeal that they keep the story but add player choice.

Always good to see another good review about this game.

Actually you could take out that half track at by shooting its driver and the one whos controlling the mg you did not time it right. But its okay.😅😅

I'd say it's horror in the same manner as EDF is horror. Yeah, it's not rubbing your face in it, but if you watch the storyline it's... well it's really horrifying to picture, no matter how absurd the packaging can be. About the missile unit issue: I think that's a product of enemy design expecting your build to have a certain level of energy efficiency, in use or recovery. That's such a huge defining part of your mobility that it becomes a pass/fail condition, especially on the missions you outlined as sticking points. Hopefully the sequel is going to remedy the checkpoint issue. Solid advice you put down here, always nice to have that available to people.

Love every Clover game I've played so I was excited for this - thanks for a great breakdown of the demo, I will be trying it out for sure!

I think the masks also lean into a different quality, so it doesn't JUST come across as a budget thing (even though that's definitely a consideration). All the characters move around in a sort of exaggerated way that reminds me of very old Japanese movies, which I think might be inspired by some certain genre of stageplays. Consequently, the dancing, lack of speech, and gestures easily readable from the overhead perspective don't come across as strange, but as part of the overall tone the game is going for.

What’s really weird about these two games are they are the exact same Wolverine in the exact same canon.

I'm playing on Xbox one, its buggy. Vibration while fighting bigger enemies is too much, prompting you to turn it off during certain fights, which also glitches the blood effects.
