I've seen Miss Saigon twice. The first time was during its original Broadway run and the second was during the revival several years back. It was actually my first ever Broadway show.

The guy you didn’t recognize is Tony DeRosa. Although no longer with Voctave, Tony was their original music director and is also the musical director of Walt Disney World. On top of that, he just happens to be an Icon of the Barbershop Music world. He is the most decorated Quartet singer in history, and is one of only two men in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s history to have won the International Quartet competition 4 times. You can check out plenty of Barbershop Music at the Barbershop38 channel.

I consider Voctave the Cadillac of all acapella groups. Individually, they are incredible soloists with amazing individual tones and texture. Together, it's magic.

As a theatre worker for the west end and to know a few of these persoanlly this got me through lockdown. To see my friends do what they love when we werent allowrd to perform anymore still makes me cry. That was a tough 18 months

I’m sorry but I doubt you have expertise in broadway singing or you just lack internalization of the piece because I feel in the way you analyzes the performance as you having difficulty in appreciating emotive singing. Obviously you have done ur homework before sitting down to critique. Ur seemed unprepared.

Voctave is amazing! And Jekyll & Hyde's music is incredible as well. I'm a little partial and biased towards the 1995 original studio cast recording with Anthony Warlow and Linda Eder, but the 1997 Original Broadway cast recording is pretty great too :)

I love Voctave's version of this song. But I also enjoyed watching you enjoying them singing. You are a true music lover!!

Not trying to take any of the glory from the choir members themselves, but the true success of OVCC is surely their director Masa Fukuda. He's a musical prodigy since like 6 years old. And his talent is definitely there in the people he gives the solo spots to, as well as the overall group composition and song choices as well as any re-working of the song that he does. It's worth doing a YT search for "One Voice Children's Choir audition", where I know there's at least one girl whose audition comes up. Masa tests their upper and lower range, their ability to re-create a progression, and gets a good feel for their current level of talent and potential. It's also worth noting that there's another choir group called "Rise Up Children's Choir" that seems to have not only some of the same choir members, but also seems to have the same videography skills. And while I know you like to focus on musicals, you might consider making a video of you reviewing a compilation video of Darci Lynne Farmer. I have never heard a more amazing voice from a ventriloquist performer. And when she sings in multiple voices using multiple dummies, it's just incredible.

This is stunning. I think I've heard it 25 times in the last 2 weeks. They are part of FSU's Opening Nights and I will be there.
