Discrete BJT Curve Tracer: an intuitive analog circuit analysis
You might already have seen this circuit: using an oscilloscope in X-Y mode it shows you the classic bipolar transistor IC - VCE characteristic. But how does it work? I'll try to answer this question with (almost) no math, to help you build a better analog circuits intuition.

Current Boosting with NPN Transistor: an Analytical Approach
มุมมอง 639วันที่ผ่านมา
Last video of this short series regarding current boosting in linear regulators. I just wanted to simply show you how to achive the same thing with a power NPN transistor.. however it turned out a much longer video than expected. We'll do an analytical study of two possible configurations, to *really* understand what's happening.
78xx Current Boosting: Circuit Design and Measurements
มุมมอง 2.1K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
In the last video we developed an interesting model for linear regulators current boosting but... does it really work? In this video, I'll give a simple example of how to select the correct components values, and we'll take some measurements to see whether our model makes any sense.
From Hobbyist to Engineer: Understanding Current Boosting in 78xx Regulators

Linear regulators are stable, cheap, easy to use and you can find them just anywhere. However, the output current is usually limited to a couple amps. How can you increase it? Just add a power PNP and a resistor! Easy, right? Well.. How do you choose the resistor value? How much current is actually drawn from the regulator and how much from the transistor? In this video you'll learn how to do s...
Discrete PWM Generator Circuit | How PWM Works

A simple circuit to learn how a fixed duty square wave is converted to a variable PWM signal using just a bunch of BJTs, resistors and capacitors.
