I follow the Demi Color manufacturer instructions. I use the Developer created for the Demi Color Brand. [Joico Color - Joico Developer] HOWEVER, It's easy to create a Demi using a Permanent Hair Color. For Natural Hair Color Levels 1- 5, I use 10 Volume Developer with Permanent Hair Color [to Create a Demi Color Service]. I use the same brand of color as developer. I follow manufacturer hair color mixing ratios. Hope this Helps...

Joico Demi's are good. I use Joico a lot. But, to get any "color change" in Gray/White Hair you have to use a Level 7 demi [and below]. Joico toners are good because you can Vary the developer strength to get more lift. I like to tone bleached [Natural Hair Color Levels 1-4] with Demi's. I use Joico, Kenra, Guy Tang, and Schwarzkopf.

I use acidic Demi Permanent Hair Color for My Toners. More color variety, better color saturation [for natural hair color levels 1-4]. The mix is 1:2. The hair has to be lifted to a level 8.5 and above for the Toner to work.

I do my own bleach touch up, toner and keratin treatment - it takes me 3 days! I have a 3 way mirror and I've been doing this for Years. It's super difficult to "get it right" on your own, at home. Yep. The Bleach can Break the hair's Disulfide Bonds [just like a Relaxer]...so the bleach can straighten. Then, I drop a Keratin Smoothing Treatment on top - and the hair is smooth, and healthy, and BLONDE!

Good Question: The shortest length hair I do Keratin Treatments on is 1/4 inch long. I use a 1/4 inch Ceramic Flat Iron. It's the Width of the Flat Iron that determines how long the hair has to be. [AND you can get the benefits of Keratin WITHOUT using a Flat Iron - it will rinse out at next shampoo]. These are such good questions...Q1) Keratin Treatments require Flat Iron- High Heat. But, the High Heat will BURN the Toner Off of the Cuticle Layers. So, I Bleach first, then deliver the Keratin Treatment, then I tone. Yes, this Color Eraser can remove direct dyes. It works by identifying the "Artificial Dye Molecules" on the hair strands, and eliminates them. Start by mixing the Color Eraser with De-ionized [or Distilled] Water {if you don't want to alter your natural hair color}. If you mix it with Developer it Will Lift your natural hair color. I Always Add "Bond Multipliers" to the Color Eraser [to protect the hair]. ALSO Only apply to the hair with the direct dye - Not the Natural Roots.
