Has anyone seen a 2006 World War 1939-1945 Remembrance 50 cent coin with a shiny background instead of the usual Matt finish on both sides of the coin.

I noodled a 1991 Mob of Roos $1 yesterday in mint condition. According to the RAM website NO $1 coins were minted in 1991

i dont own a Mars coin 😢

My top 5 would be: 1. Mars. 2. 2013 Queen's Coronation 3. 2012 R.S.L carded red poppy. 4. Any bullseye error $2. They are found in circulation very rarely. 5. The re-issue red poppy. Common errors, such as die fill, cuds and lamination peeling, are not really that hard to find, so i don't count those. I do collect them but for secondary market value, they're really not that good.

I have 3 sets of the Planetary coin sets. My family and friends thought i was nuts spending that much money when the sets were first put on sale through Auspost outlets.

I should also add that the RAM also considers the listing of the 1992 MoR $1 to be a clerical error. They have simply not ammended their records as they did with the incorrect listing of 1 million of the 2001 MoR $1 being struck. That was corrected very early on in 2002.

The 1992 MoR listing is considered to be a clerical error. Downies claimed they sold one at auction but the buyer never received the coin as it mysteriously went missing. No surprise there... it is Downies. As for the existence of the 1992 MoR $1 coin, thats a no. If anyone does find one, it's going to be a fake and yes, the fakes fo exist. I had one. It wasn't a very good fake either. Close examination showed an altered digit.

I have two red poppy coins uncirculated

I have this and my $2 coin and 50c is totally different, the $2 coin is a doll on the reverse and the 50c has liken a cartoon like imagine of the kangaroo and emu...maybe I have a different set? It's also a different package but the same plastic hard case which is super awesome. Mine is an uncirculated set....is yours an uncircumcised circulated set? LOL yours is 21 min is 24

Those coins that weren't meant for circulation are listed as NCLT, or Non Circulating Legal Tender. That's the correct terminology for them.

The Sir Henry Parkes $1 is very common. I see at least a dozen a week when I'm noodling. The 20c coins to look for are the 1995 platypus, 1983 and 1984 plus the usual 1966 wavy baseline.

I bought a dozen of those PNCs back in 2007. The 2007 mint set is supposed to have the lifesavers $1 coin. If you have a 2007 mint set with a roos $1, it's an error, unless you're referring to the proof set?

I have 6 of the RAM 20 coin bags of change-over $1 coins plus 10 change over PNCs with the $1. I went on a spending bender back when they were issued. Glad i did.

Probably best to mention silver is weighed and measured in troy ounces, not avoirdupois ounces which is what the crowns almost weigh on the scales. A troy ounce is 31.103 grams. An avoirdupois ounce is 28.35 grams. The Australian crown weighs 28.27grams, which is a long way off a troy ounce.

hey, hoping you see this, I was just looking through my wallet and found a 2021 50c JC coin with what I believe is an error, it has the "&" character printed on the Queen's face. Been looking online and can't find anyone else with this.

There are many fakes of these. *Have you tested if they are authentic?* I bought a few from ebay and now am eagerly waiting to test them. I will be using magnet attraction, magnet slide, weight, ping, and specific gravity tests.
