To catch shells. While shooting trap, you don’t want your shells ejecting and hitting the shooter next to you. And you ESPECIALLY don’t want to hit his 30 or 40 thousand dollar shotgun. This is the serious truth.

In trap you don't want shells ejecting onto your neighbor or their gun. Mostly an etiquette and safety thing, but it can also damage other people's equipment etc. The shell catcher just stops it in the action so you can remove it manually.
Which LOAD did you use? ① 24g TGT load ？ ② 28g TGT load ？ ③ Stronger load than above ？
I gotta get me one of those!!! Does it work on a standard A-5??? By the way the guy below me is correct; you are supposed to load a Browning from the bottom with the bolt open.
The newer versions you can load from the bottom however the older versions you have to press the button on the side of the receiver to chamber a round . I think it changed in the 60s , I bought a new A 5 in about 71 or72 and and you could load from the bottom but my dads A 5 that he bought new in 42 had to press the bolt release button to chamber a round !…..

My A400 Xcel shell catcher just arrived in the mail. Fast shipping, appears to be a well made product. Can't wait to try it. Thank you for this video. I was curious what would happen if I ran doubles with it. It seems to drop the first empty hull pretty close to the shooter, so hopefully I won't be "That Guy" at the trap field hahaha Thank you. I will post a review when I get to the range.

Genuinely curious, whats the scenario where you can only have 1 shell loaded?
This is often used for shooting trap competition, like 5 stand. You can only have one shell loaded and you use a shell catcher so you are not throwing shells at other shooters. This way you can toss the spent shells in the bucket rather than pick them up later. I have an A400 Extreme Plus which is basically the same as the 1301. Just more duck than tactical.

Will this shell catcher work on the Beretta 12ga 400 Xplor and does it handle doubles?
I believe the Xplor and Xcel actions are the same. It will not do doubles, this is mainly for Singles.

I just got a set of these ejector removal tools, and can't believe how easy they work! My DT-11 ejectors are razor sharp and always draw blood from my thumb. I tried using a rag, but can't get proper leverage. These tools are perfect and make this task safer and easier.!!😀
