    SO good!! Thank you!! Eric Liddell quote comes to mind here - “I believe God has made me for a purpose - but He has also made me fast . And when I run, I feel His pleasure”. Our identity is secure in God and once that is established, everything then becomes about feeling His pleasure… which is how we can be and maintain being “others” focused….. Oh what love the Father has lavished upon us that we should be called Children of God!

    So maybe I need to listen to some of Jamie's podcasts, but in this interview I didn't get a sense of how, once the "room has been swept clean" of fear, it stays swept, IF the person is not a believer? If knowing we are loved (unconditionally by God) is what casts out fear, than how does all this apply to those who don't believe? Does it become just sheer human determination, which we can't maintain?

    • @intentionalleader_calwalters
      @intentionalleader_calwalters 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a great question! Jamie has done a lot of work with non believers, so I’m sure he would have a great answer.

      Jamie is talking about Matthew 12:43-45 sweeping out fear in your mind and heart. Asking Jesus to come fill the space as he is sharing faith over the person he is working with. We can make confessions, like pouring out water out of a cup but we need Jesus to fill the space that is now empty with love, joy, peace, patience…

    • @mosart7025
      @mosart7025 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@outwaterjro Yes, certainly. But he seems to work/guide a lot of non-believers, and while it might be a great intro to Jesus, does he claim it works without Jesus?

    • @Imonlyhuman-gm7jj
      @Imonlyhuman-gm7jj 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mosart7025 I think that non-believers can be transformed too. The transformation is in the truth telling and not going back to the false. I believe every human has this option, it’s not limited. The terminology might be different, but it’s all the same. 12-step recovery leads people down this same path. All recovery comes down to the same things. That’s why individual recovery is so important.

    Great interview with a great leader. Much appreciated. It is essential that we recall and nurture our past connections. I worked with General McChrystal in the context of the National Security conference in May 2013 in D.C. where he was a keynote speaker. quite Ironically, as luck would have it, at the same time, I met Lt. General Frank Wiercinski, another remarkable leader and a close friend of General MC Chrystal. I had just completed a master's degree in intelligence studies and was a volunteer at the event. I was in Iraq in 2010 while he was with JSOC in Afghanistan, and unfortunately, by the time I arrived in Afghanistan, Stan was gone, though his legend continued. When I met him in Washington he was a humble generous spirit, and I carried away some important lessons and good memories. Today, I am a doctor of international law and still work in the Middle East. That influence, that connection, and the related impact that he raised here hit home. I currently deliver leadership courses to high-ranking officers and his motivational insight often figures within the context of my lectures. Thanks for an interesting and informative session.

    loved when he said his performance was his identity, we all leaders fall into this trap. God the father announced Jesus as his beloved Son with whom He is so pleased before he even performed. we already have an identity through Jesus just like a king's son becomes a king. he just grows in becoming a good one.
