BBC 2 test card transmitter info and test trade colour film
This clip is actually from Front Row on the same date.
I could never have imagined that i would get to hear the theme from the Adventurer, since that show such a little flash in the pan. But that theme, along with the theme from The Persuaders - also by John Barry - has remained my favorite for years. The melancholy, almost yearning, quality of both these themes (The Persuaders, The Adventurer) was a hallmark of John Barry and his penchant for composing in minor keys. RIP John Barry. Thanks for putting it up!!
dr who is great look at face boat and face boat 2009..and dr cream enjoy
This Show was Whacked. 1970s Schmaltz.
@pwnage155 David became The Doctor in 2006
@Mythteller It was only a kids TV programme. Get a life!!
To explain to foreign viewers outside the Uk who think we might be crazy reminiscing about this stuff...In the 60's and early 70's there were only 3 channels in the UK and very little TV during the day. Consequently there were long periods of the test card with light music and the occasional test film so that TV dealers could sell sets. Many British kids at home on holiday watched these films hundreds of times and know the test card and engineering announcements music well too....
but thanks for posting this, it took me back to the 80's
What consoles do they have?
' what sort of things did they talk about..about books' , as much as i love john craven, this is hardly the most thought through interview
Really. This was the story I least hated from McCoy's first season. :P I'm glad they include these on the dvd releases; some may feel who cares, but I get a little enjoyment out of them. :)
Harry Palmer's son?
Isn't Juliet Harmer just heartbreakingly lovely ....?
MY Doctor. The BEST Doctor.
After hearing Nick Briggs' voice coming from the Daleks for so long, I actually did a double take when the voice sounded funny. Oops, I should finish watching the Classic Series.
If the BBC could remake Adam Adamant, why not cast David Tennant?
UGHHHHH, that was kinda cool ! Love those 15 second commercials.....
I like Tom Baker! And I love his smile! That always make me smile!
he was a very good doctor it would have been sweet if he did another series
It took me a while to start watching Doctor Who, but before I watched it, anything I saw of it was with David Tennant as the Doctor, so that's what I was expecting. So when I saw Chris Eccleston, I was a little uncomfortable at first, but I grew to like him so much that it took me two whole seasons to get used to David Tennant again. I wanted Eccleston back, one season wasn't enough.
Awesome
always a great gal-until I heard her name, I always thought it was an other spelling of Layla. But she was great as the 2nd Romana
And now the other Barry has left us.....RIP JB
LOL @ Chris playing with the little Dalek!
I have all the ones related to Grease from 78/79!!
i think the people who name the doctor who episodes are lazy, the seeds of doom? and the seeds of death? haha fail XD
super temaso de tv
or building what lovehina96 said, if she came back only that one time to play the part, have a scene whare she is looking through the doctors tardis archives, finds all companions since her, finds an image of rose and regenerates in that image( keep that part of her personality going) then goes off again
The Alexander Stone version grows on you after a while--of course the Ron Grainger ork version is the BEST! Bradford was the coolest ex-spy/PI of them all!
awesome, i hope to see that someday :D
Had this as a Kid. Daleks ran on the tracks and you rotated the central pod when it was your turn, which moved the Daleks. If a Dalek touched a player character, it was exterminated. Game wasn't that brilliant after the novelty wore off, but the Dalek figures lived on for many a battle against Lego characters, and even fought with / against Darth Vader in mighty battles that stretched the length of the living room carpet in a terraced house, not so far away, but a long time ago...
Cool I didn't know Peter Davision watches The League of Gentleman & Dr Chinery was inspured by All Creatures Great & Small :~)
I havent seen that show in years.. thanks for posting..
I ordered this from Amazon, received a video called "Joe-69" which funnily enough also included shiny spinning mind altering orbs, disgusting... :)
@damo007revenge I completely agree. If Grade though that the production values of Doctor Who in the mid-late 80s were so 'creaky', as controller of the BBC at the time, he was in a better position than anyone to inject more money into the programme to correct this. In my opinion, he should never have been made controller in the first place, as he was biased against one of the BBC's most long-running and frankly adored programmes. The BBC only supports DW when its in its heyday, as it is now.
I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to steal it, or graffiti it.
How beautiful!! Stingray, Supercar, Thunderbirds, Captian Scarlet.. they are my favorites. Thanks for sharing with this great quality!!
Remembr it well especially as we are served by Stockland Hill. I have visited Evoluon in Eindhoven and have the 'Home made car' film on tape. All very nostalgic.
i work ar tesco extra at stocky and i havent seen this :O
I love the chemistry between them you can completely tell that they get on so well and they bounce off each other. They are both brilliant!
To all tall people: Is it bigger on the inside?
Sandra Dickinson is so annoying D: but then again, maybe I'm jealous... >.<
Wish Itv4 Would show this Show....The Persuaders/The Protectors/Minder/The Equalizer/Chips And The Adventurer...What A line Up.....You Cant Beat John Barry Music....Fantastic.....Gene Barry Is The Sugar Daddy!!! Fair Play To Him...
1980! I love 1980. For some strange reason;)
@allowthisshit You're kind of right....but this was made in 1976 and "The Thing" is, as you say, 1982 vintage. Both are infact a 'rip' of the1951 B-movie 'The thing from another world"
@tardisdrwho2007 no, they actually explain in the story that the ship is due to reach the Earth in four days - hence, four (days) to doomsday.
I thought I would never hear this music again, reminds me when I was 5 and watched Joe 90 on the tv, 34 years ago!
the 1974-80 Tom Baker titles are Based on the 1973 Jon Pertwee titles.
That bit of music that plays as they appear is great! "Stars Wars it ain't." --- And that's why it's SUPERIOR.
Me encanta esta serie... la veía siempre después de la escuela. Creo que fue la primera serie que me cautivó. (I love this serie. I saw it after school. I think it was my first...
