Aveva is a great treasure of cultural authenticy. She represents a great people.

Rosa Leff's work is currently on view in Baltimore at the American Visionary Art Museum at 800 Key Highways as part of the "Abundance: Too Much - Too Little - Just Right" exhibition, on view through Labor Day weekend 2023. You can see many of her "Urban Landscapes" and the Christmas/Hanukkah "Chinese Food Container" and many other works. All are incredibly created and are visitor favorites. You will see them immediately upon entering the main building as you walk up the ramp to the galleries, plus more on the second floor. Rosa graciously met with the museum docents to share her insights and also gave a paper-cutting workshop that sold out ASAP. Rosa is an amazing person and a truly creative spirit.

I had a book of the Chelm stories 70 years ago. I wish I could get such a book again.

I first read about the Bintel Briefs in the marvelous tome World of Our Fathers by Irving Howe. Then KPFK (sister station to WBAI) devoted a program to this. I watched a doco about the history of BB yesterday and today I will have the pleasure of watching the stage production. Pure bliss - although, of course, I am aware of the pain of those who expressed themselves through their letters. Something I cannot recommend highly enough: a visit to Ellis Island if you live in or will be visiting NYC.

Shalom aleichem, I really enjoyed this Chelm tale. The only problem was sometimes the background music level was too high and I couldn’t hear some of the dialogue. I hope in the next installments, the music sound level will be lower. I don’t want to miss any of the dialogue! Zayt gezunt!
