This is my very first knife review ever uploaded to TH-cam and hope you enjoy and of course thank you for watching! *Please excuse the small, black dot that appears in the shot. This is a small flaw in my video camera viewfinder.*

God Bless everyone!!!! Jesus Loves you all very much!!!!
What steel sir?
I've got 2 second one arrived today.
Just purchased this knife. How's your holding up after a few years of use?
Bought one just because of reviews like yours, got 25% off and &$8.00 shipping. I will sharpen and put it in my car BOB bag in my trunk for a defensive situation and for a cutting tool should I need it. It is big, heavy and inexpensive ----- perfect for something you hope you never have to use, but more than good enough if you have to put it to the test ! I don't have mine yet, get in early next week, but from everything I have read the sheath is basically for storage and not for wearing except maybe in a pinch. Nice review BTW ;- )
Just got mine in today ..... the pics don't do this justice for sure, it is huge and made very well for the price. This thing makes my Walmart Mossy Oak wood handle Bowie look like a play toy ;- ) I will get another one to throw in another emergency bag ...... yes, the sheath is pure $%@#
How can you review a knife like that without cutting anything? LOL
What KIND /GRADE of Stainless steel is used on the 17 TR65 Timber Rattler Outlaw Bowie, and is it HEAT TREATED? How hard is it to put a edge on it, does it retain a edge well.... Anyone had any problems with the blade CRACKING, or SHATTERING while battonng / wood processing, etc?
Primarily, you are buying the blade and not the sheath. Think of the sheath as just something they threw together to ship it. Ours DID come close to razor (hair shaving) sharp but the sheath was wanting. No big issue. We had a Southern Comfort made for it. The blade itself is worth far more than the $20-$30 range you'll pay. Full tang. Kickass blade. Nice clip. Ours is now fully sharpened. Even if ours came dull, we would have recut the edge anyway. This is a fighting Bowie. It does have a choil as opposed to the preferred Spanish notch but a choil can be useful and the double guard will work for trapping and blocking incoming blades. As big as we all know this knife is, the Southern Comfort makes this knife disappear under a shirt with no printing.
"Razor harp" is both meaningless and silly. The sheath is worth more than the knife, in this case. Do people who know anything at all about steel buy this knife? It isn't even made of a designated, listed steel. It's made of scrap steel that doesn't even get heat treated and tempered. When steel is so bad it doesn't even have a name, it's junk. This steel is whatever the knife maker could find cheapest at the local junkyard. Throw it all into a melting pot, pour it into sheets, cut the sheets into blanks. "Handcrafted" means you drop off a load to a bunch of people who work in alleys and street sides. They make "knives" of the blanks, and, on their days off, "handcraft" shoes from old tires to sell to tourists. I'm not a steel snob, and unlike many, I think 440a is pretty good steel. But no matter what anyone says, these knives are not made of 440a. Every batch of steel they make is different because they don't know or care what goes into each batch, as long as it's some form of stainless. Don't people even do five minutes of research to learn something, anything at all about steel? These knives are even good enough to give away as prizes at your local country fair. The sad thing is that you can get a good knife for half of what these pieces of junk =cost. But these are "Bowie" knives, so suckers buy them, even though they have nothing at all to do with real Bowie knives, even in looks.
You are totally right. Except that they work pretty well for their intended purpose. They will do things that a Mora won't. So get both. I like good knives and some cheap knives. The ones in this video work fine for a truck knife
knife is a saw not a chisel. Thanks for the nice review.
Good review and I agree with you I have 3 of them.
one thing you said: Only buying american made; Why do americans not want to support the world economy? I dont think its a good idea to get so closed off to the rest of the world.
send Me 1
Got mine there too..$20. Awesome knife. Surprised me. Mine came razor sharp. Slices paper sliiiiink.
I am seriously interested in buying one....There are those saying the blade comes through semi-sharp. Maybe it's just that it is a mass produced low cost knife which makes the edge hit or miss when it comes to sharpening. I look forward to sharpening up my knives anyway but it's good yours came through like a razor.
I have the 8CM version of this awesomely designed and constructed knife. Has not let me down and I'm glad to have it as part of my Buck knives / knife collection. I will consider buying this larger counterpart. Awesome.
What Buck model is that?
fucking postage is like 60 bucks to get here in australia..so a cheap knife turns into an not so cheap one
Australia is has the worst tariff laws
People say the knife is good but the sheath is bad if the sheath is bad buy a new one or make one
Nice review! Gotta get one!
Lol my edc is worth more than your whole collection.
Free-hand filing a bevel is a crude method you can use if there isn't any better way to do it, but there is: invest in a Lansky or Catco jig & work through the grits with no sweat to reshape your bevel to professional quality that'll be uniform, smooth & attractive.
Gratz on having the word "Dayz" in the title :D
Sorry to hear that yours was dull. Mine was shaving hair out of the box and the sharp is across the total edge. Totally satisfied. Would like to have several but that would just be dumb.
+Xro Same here.
Hello friend your very nice video, I really wanted these but a knife here in my country is very expensive about $ 138.34 dollar aconcelha me what you think it pays to pay that price?
Oh No ! ebay? can you order one online? because in the southern US $150 can get you a very nice hand made blade. with a real buck horn or bone handle and all.
i will still get this large model for versability, remove the thumb stud and the pocket clip and carry it in my horizontal buck 110 nylon sheath.. i've had a camo blw in my bugout bag for 3-4 years now, and i never carried it because the blade centering is waaay off (for a backlock even!!), the balance isn't great, a lot blade heavier than i would like and the pivot is gritty. but a razor sharp emergency blade. beautiful design!
I ordered the BHW before watching this video and now I am assured that I made the right decision :) good vid brother and God bless!
Spring assisted knives are not illegal in California, get your facts straight. And for gods sake, get some quality knives before posting edc vids.
You didn't cover tanto vs. drop point, fixed vs folder, clip vs lanyard/fob, blade length, or really go into the differences between plain edge, serrated, or combo blade. You also didn't cover edc for protection vs other tasks. I personally carry a S&W ExtremeOps Urban Camo karambit for utility use on my job and for protection. For my secondary I carry a plain edge folder for everyday cutting tasks that the karambit is not versatile enough to handle. My secondary is usually relatively cheap since I tend to be rough on them and lose them a often. Also, IMHO combo blades are useless. No matter what you're using it for, half of the blade is unusable. I would rather have a plain edge EDC and secondary full serrated if I needed a serrated blade. Also, there are some folders that come with both.
Great review
The Bible, American flag, and a Buck knife...we'll done my friend.
Good stuff. Thanks
convention prices are always pricey
i got it today it cost me 45 dollars it was at comicon
Like Geoff Thompson put it: "What would you do against a knife? He replied "About 60 miles per hour." If someone would pull "that knife" out on he, I would do my best to "walk on water" by running away as fast as i can. Damn that knife is scary even if it's dull it would break bones & YES IT IS A FIGHTING BOWIE {if it has a guard, it's a fighter}. another point is that in the "old style"they would just wedge it between your pants & your belt, NOT strap it on your belt. No strap needed. Thank You
You did a good job here my friend. Good comparison between sizes. I have the L but will now get the H!
Recently I got into knifes and I'm very much enjoying collecting them.I got a cheap knife to practice sharpening,it came very blunt.I just could not get it sharp until i tried you're technique. Now it is hair shaving sharp,i can't believe the difference. Thanks for the vid,it was really helpful.
took me 2 hours to destroy that sheath wearing it on my belt rivets pop out
Well to be honest, it depends. If you're a person with some tools that can file the edge down like I did here, I'd say yes sir I'd recommend it cuz it is an awesome knife that has the potential for heavy duty performance. However it you didn't have such tools or knowhow, no I wouldn't because like I said the edge just comes flat out blunt and it would be a waste. So really its up to you and what ya think ya do with it.
would you recomend it.
@dirtrider169 Excellent man! No sir I do not, I'm just now starting to my sheath making because I haven't made one in a long time, I'm really sorry man I wish I could help ya out
@SENGVIN I will admit it is true. It's not the highest quality knife there is and BudK.com isn't the best place to buy a knife. I don't use mine much, I mostly rely on my Buck 110 because I know thats quality.
@TheWeeklyRepository I have to agree on this one, If u dont have money u shop on Budk .com for cheap and useless knives all 98% of them. Don't be kidding your self u know u dont need cheap knife bud good knife.Just saying no offence
@phsycosk8r429 I have a couple knife sharpening videos up on my channel if ya wanna check those out. Or if that doesn't do it then you can google how to do it or other videos on YT or of course you can get it professionally sharpened
@dirtrider169 Ya know I've noticed that myself...I dont like that at all!
@dirtrider169 lol ill bet thats the story haha
@phsycosk8r429 btw dead on about the blade.
Just got this bad boy as my first knife, but I have no idea how to take care of it. No Idea what kind of stone or oil I should sharpen it with or how to sharpen it. halp pleez
rambo knife
@KSBushman let me help you k all you stupid fucks say its cheep and crap well it is not in fact i have a newer one that's 15 bucks and it can cut a 6 inch tree in hafe in about 4 hits and if you know something bout a tree at least then you'd know that like 4 hits to cut all the way through a tree then its a grate knife so shut the fuck up you people that know nothing about a knife you don't know and yes it dose have a few problems
