@@AudioSignalSuite their longevity is pretty amazing, two of the speakers are ones my father brought back from overseas when he was in Vietnam and two of them I picked up second hand myself his were the 1500s the ones I got were 200 the 1500s are 60 w and the 200s are 40 w I would prefer to have them balanced but the 40s are the rears and the 60s are the front

@@sabbath7081 Wow! If it's the SP-1500, then your father really did everything right! Great speakers, from the days when Sansui was still in the absolute top class! In good condition it is also very expensive these days.

@@KatS-c8j yes, back then he said all the soldiers in nam bought the stuff cheap and brought it home to there family's, he got the 5000 receiver and a pioneer PL 41 turn table and the two 1500s for a very reasonable price in 1969.

Back then, the JL Audio W7 had just come onto the market, and over those years, I gained a lot of experience in the car audio field. We also did a lot of experiments and built SPL vehicles, but a 5-way system is really very difficult and complex. Respect for that! At what frequencies do you cross over? Regarding the other topic, which is about this video. For many viewers, it’s just a video, but it is really elaborately produced in the studio on Genelec 8050 with an additional subwoofer to not only represent sweep test tones. The problem, however, is that music without the use of a compressor and limiter does not sound good for the masses and makes everything more difficult. Yes, the music and the low pass filter were made in a digital Environment. Such precision would not have been possible in an analogue way.

Yes, the bass should ideally cancel out, meaning it will become quieter. (The right sound wave ideally cancels out the left one, 180 degree phase shift) So if the bass sounds quieter in the video at the moment “Now it must sound wrong,” then the speakers are correctly connected. For your information, if you place the speakers opposite each other with incorrect polarity, everything will cancel out. (Ideally only, as this doesn’t fully happen in reality)

"does that mean it sounds louder...": No, ideally that shouldn’t happen. If it sounds louder during the video moment ‘Now it must sound wrong,’ then unfortunately you have very unfavorable room reflections.

Maybe you have an extreme dip at 130dB at your listening position. Test the video with headphones or adjust the speakers.
