Do you have a substitute for the Ardex products that might be available at Home Depot?
Henrys feather finish might be fine. I used it on my countertops and in the bathroom sinks and I am very well pleased with how it is holding up. So I would attempt it in my own home but I wouldn't do it in a client's home until I could guarantee it would work.
