Creating Templates With VEP and Cubase 10
มุมมอง 8825 ปีที่แล้ว
Another vid to go through template creation. Remember that creating a template is very much a personal thing. It is down to your resources, and planning. You can create a massive template to use on all projects but you will find that it may hinder you in the long run. I really hope my rambling helps, feel free to leave a comment or suggestion. Thanks

      s1studios Hi again, Hope all is well yours. I did not find your last tutorial which is basic one how it’s began empty project, you explained, remove or deleted ? I just start build up template. My pc setup 1 master (master is most powerful pc and orchestral libraries and strings stay in master) and 3 slave pc. When I start template for master pc do I need to create all VEPro settings like slaves pc’s or master computer setup must be setting up inside of cubase ?

      Onur, you are correct. I did start the other video with a blank project. I changed it though because i didnt want to waste your time creating folders from scratch. If that is important then i can look at adding it.

    • @s1studios
      @s1studios 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Shucky, each instrument that is in Vienna has a seperate audio channel in Cubase if that is what you mean?

    • @shaiketdas
      @shaiketdas 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@s1studios What I mean is, let's say in a VEP instance I have 5 kontakt instances each on its own midi port. And each of the 5 instances has 5 patches loaded of different instruments. Now, in my DAW I want 25 channels so that I can individually add inserts, send etc - for each of the patches, instead of just 5 (corresponding to the 5 kontakt instances) if that makes sense.

    • @s1studios
      @s1studios 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh, yes. When you use VEP in cubase, you should have a whole list of audio imputs from vienna. In Vienna as long as you assign each instrument to a different out you can then see it in the mixer. So for example. If i have a stacc string in a library in vienna. The instance in cubase will have a "Vienna ensemble pro 1" component in the audio part of the channel. In each one you will have 16 further independent audio channels that will correspond to the audio channel you have selected in Vienna. That way any sends or changes to the channel should have an effect on the single intrument.

    Hi, very helpfully thank you. May I question about vep template with cubase ? I am confusing about creat in vep6 instances and cubase rack instruments. VEP6 instances I that I see two different way , one of them create by category like brass - woodwinds etc... and second one create by vendor-developer like 8Dio - spitfire etc... My question is per instances in vep6 how many kontakt libraries I have to add ? For cubase rack instruments how do I organising folder except midi ? I’ve 1 master 3 slave and all powerful machine about ram ssd etc... Thanks

    • @s1studios
      @s1studios 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Onur, You can build your template however you wish. I launch VEP6 as a server and then add an instance per library. You can then have them listed in your DAW however you wish. I will make another video soon with my latest setup. I will try to make it a little better to understand.

    • @s1studios

      @@LoRDoNuR81 When you first load up VEP as a server you of course have a blank page. Then in your DAW you would open an instance and select VEP so you can use it for your music. As you know in Cubase, this is an instance. At the top corner of the instance you have the option to add audio channels or "Audio outs" really. When you do this, your DAW should then add "Virtual Audio channels" that will be attached to the instance. In VEP you will then load a plugin and make sure the "Midi" channels at the top is set to all and then you can go into your Vienna mixer and you will see a plus and a minus next to the plugin channel. When you press plus it will add "Aux audio" channels. Each channel can then be represented in Cubase. When you build your instruments in Cubase you would use the VST instrument section to make sure it is using the required audio out. In VEP i give it 32audio outs and 32midi channels. This allows me to add sections of a library or most articulations in one go. Each other Library can have its own instance and audio outs. As far as midi is concerned i don't show the midi channels on my mixer. The reason for this is that the end product is always going to be Audio. Midi is represented in controller data and can cause problems if you are using it to control volume. (My Opinion Only). I always use the audio channels to control the audio of the part. The other benefit of using separate audio channels per instrument is that it enables you to use different plugins. I will get a vid done as soon as i can.

    The reason why kontakt only shows 16 channels for is the limits of VST2. Easy way to route all the channels out is to use the VEP Pro 3.0 VST in your host. Each kontakt can let you use 16 channels, That is where the numbers come in play. I got 700+ channels working in S1 just fine this way with 35 kontakts.

    • @shaiketdas
      @shaiketdas 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, curious in S1 do you have only 35 channels corresponding to the 35 kontakt instances or 700. I reallly want to control the individual channel inserts etc from S1 and not VEP.
