4000 mile an hour Canyon Combat Chase - Infinity Battlescape
มุมมอง 2.3K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Big new patch later today! Decided to post something from the old version to celebrate. A chase through a medium sized canyon at a little under two kilometres per second with flight assist off and no hud? That should do it. Thanks to Karacho for running rather than trying to fight, this was fun! (until the end there) www.inovaestudios.com/
Corvette Chill-out Cruise - Infinity Battlescape - WIP Prototype
มุมมอง 7197 ปีที่แล้ว
Taking the corvette out for a 'slow' cruise around the gas giant's ring station. The scale (as always) is a little deceptive here, the corvette is close to a hundred meters in length and these relatively low speeds are still in the region of hundreds of miles an hour. www.inovaestudios.com/ Exited for the big new networking patch, will be able to show off some combat when that goes live.
Rogue System - Docking, Without NAS Flight Assistance

Decided I'd learn how to dock without using NAS attitude holds while waiting on the new mission and battery update. I'm going to need a lot of practice.
Rogue System - EMERGENCY PROCEDURES!

WIP Station Scale - Infinity: Battlescape - Prototype
มุมมอง 5388 ปีที่แล้ว
Low-poly models are being used for now to block out the basic shapes and sizes of stations. Looking forward to the big detail pass in coming updates. This was a quick fly-through of 'Long Station' (Imaginative name, huh?) with an interceptor flying at about two-hundred and seventy miles per hour. Wanted to try and show off just how big these structures are. Threw in a full throttle boost at the...
A Corvette Pilot in Flight School - Infinity: Battlescape - Prototype
มุมมอง 1K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Took the corvette on a short in-atmosphere flight as I need the practice. It did not end well. www.inovaestudios.com/Battlescape Prototype Version 0.1.6 - 2nd of October 2016. The Corvette is huge and completely ungainly when flying around in-atmosphere, it’s also a bit tricky to judge how close it is to things around it thanks to that huge size. It's also tough enough to shrug off mistreatment...

Hmmm, this person sounds familiar…
this is delightful
I tried to do this but keep ending up flying out the airlock at high speed. Is there no way to depressurize first?
That's very strange, the airlock is supposed to depressurise itself BEFORE opening the door automatically. More detailed pressure control systems are planned for some point in the future. Maybe post what's happening to you in the bug reports discussion board for the game on steam?
I tried it again your way, lining up the other ship's docking port with mine, and it worked fine. I think the problem was that I wasn't using any reference to steady myself and there was still some differential rotation and it was throwing me out.
The crash at the end, hugged the ground a bit too close.
can't wait to see fps gameplay. hopefully he adds breathing noises like in 2001
I say wiht a game as good looking as this, get some nasa engineers or physicist on it, get orbital mechanics, maybe even some general relativity with near light speed travel. Kerbal space program honestly has best physics/mechanics just lacks graphics. Wish this had baby with ksp.
That EVA segment needs some breathing sound effects. Or just for giggles, maybe a system that uses a mic to listen to your own breathing to tell when you're stressed and translate that into change in your oxygen consumption?
is this gonna be on console
Nope, PC exclusive.
Aerodynamic isnt the thing in planet's atmosphere?
These ships have incredibly powerful engines that allow them to punch through the atmosphere easily and are a lot heavier than conventional aircraft, so they've got a lot of inertia behind them. That said, in the current version of the game the atmosphere has a lot more stopping power. One of the ideas of the developers is that ships will have shield systems that give them better aerodynamic properties than the blocky shapes of the vessels themselves.

Cool
With a few addons it could easily become the most advanced ISS EVA simulator!

turning off the injectors helps with fine control :D
6:49 I got a little distracted. Was my first time trying it without NAS holds on in a very long time.
sry seems to have missed that moment...anyway, good flight!, will you make a vid about the battery mission?
Maybe later when the hand-release speed bug is patched out :)
Looked awesome! Love me some FA Off! Great stuff. :)
Nice terrain and sky, ship interior looks a bit flat, clean. Framerate looks choppy but alpha is alpha. I hope it has good content.
Not hating, I like infinity battlescape, but starting to go towards star citizen feel which I don't like. Where is orbital physics? Newtonian type 6 degree freedom type flying. Instead seems like child playing because that's how you airplanes fly. Also if docking in space there is no need to "land". Instead it should just dock.
I've got the flight computer on in this holding a forward course with the manoeuvring thrusters, I could turn it off for another video if you want. ;) *Part of the problem with doing that is this space station hovers in place in a fixed position above the planet, turning off the flight computer will cause the ship to start to fall from the planet's gravity.
You mean like deorbit? Like faster object will have lower orbital altitude and higher orbit slower velocity
Well yes and no. The planets and moons have gravity so you can get into orbit around them and use orbital physics to get around, but the ships have insanely high g acceleration with powerful thrusters on all sides that can counteract gravitational forces when working with the ship's flight assistance computer... You might as well just fly direct to your destination in a matter of seconds, rather than the hours/days/weeks/months that utilizing orbital mechanics would take you. Remember this is real-time multiplayer game with hundreds of players rather than a single player one you can timewarp forward, and all the planets and moons are of a 1-1 scale. If your heart is truly set on a more realistic technological setting, you might want to try out Rogue System in early access on steam by Digits Crossed Interactive.
I will check that out. Yeah but sounds great but a little similar to star citizen. Which fantasy sided game would be fine but when I think of best space scifi I think of star wars but its own creator can't even keep that going or further the dream properly. When I play games like star citizen i feel like playing with 3 year old. If only there was something more like 2001 space oddesy less steriile and alone. But you guys pioneered procedural planets and I love your lighting, closest to lighting i see on nasa footage at iss. So keep up what your doing I'm sure it will be great.
marshalcraft Have you looked at Rogue System? That one is the closest thing to a realistic sim there currently is. That or Children of a dead Earth, though this one is more Kerbal Space Program than Wing commander. The problem with space sims is that you can't have a realistic multiplayer space sim, because if you have something that depends on newtonian physics, well, the trip from earth to moon is 1 week, real time. Space is just too big.
this game makes ELite dag. outdated and star citzen can't get it done right where is alpha 3.0 ?? i wonder if dual universe is really have alpha release as well
wait is there a playable demo yet?!!! unnnnggg
Yes. This is it. Not a free demo mind you. The price is going to drop a fair bit when Alpha comes out soonish, so you might want to wait for that.
Interesting...I really need to get back in the seat and brush up. Can't wait for the next new mini mission update hopefully.
Reminds me of Homeworld's banana ship
u overheated
I noticed. ;)
*tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick*
Yep, the ship's proximity ping for being close to a station was broadcast over the suit's speakers in the first build of the update. That bug's fixed now. ;)
How did you get 0.3.00.0 version? Mine is at 0.2.01.08ap2 right now. Also the forums of this game seems dead :/
It's the test version/beta build of the update. You can select it by going into the game's properties on steam and downloading the beta. Most people talk on the steam forums now rather than the official ISI forum. There's still a few bugs to get worked through and the control system's bindings needs to be set up before the update goes properly live and the direct ISI version should get updated at that time.
Does this game support Oculus ?
Not officially, at least not yet.
how mutch do i have to spend, to play this game now?
The alpha has been delayed by a number of months, but it won't be too long now. You might want to wait for that instead, under half the price of developer build access. www.indiegogo.com/projects/infinity-battlescape#/ The current price on indiegogo for developer build access is $275. Alpha build (for when the alpha build is released) is currently $110.
Naiba kie ok, th u for the informations, nice vid btw:)
Naiba kie how many planets are there for now??
Only 1 planet (the gas giant) and 3 moons at the moment. The developers plan to have dozens for the finished map. You can modify the moons a fair bit in the game's config files (for now) if you want a little more variety.
i wondering they used spaceengine 0.9.5 as there based engine and modified with ships and planetary bases..as a test then got full blown game after 0.8.1
Dam, you've become one ace pilot. o7
Through the magic of editing out the crashes. ;) *Also, I'm still terrible with the corvette.
Waitin' for more.
I want to see it in 60 fps.
Fair point, I'll set OBS up to record in 60fps in future. :)
will my i5 6400, gtx 1060 6gb run this smooth?
Probably smoother than I can! Used an old i7 2600 and 4gb GTX 970 to record this video. :)
Naiba kie hm k, th for your answer:)
we had some quiet track to add over video
Neat. I haven't thought about adding any music to these videos yet. There's no way of turning off the in-game music at the moment.
This looks pretty awesome. Is there a playable alpha or beta client available?
Playable Pre-Alpha for a few of the high-tier kickstarter backers, although this weekend (27th-30th of jan) there's going to be a special event to open up the pre-alpha to alpha backers kickstarter backers. Starts 2pm EST today.
Hey man, you're pulling some Geeeeeees!! Holy Moly! :D
is there a way to try out the unfinshed version as of now ? could not find any download links or somthing via google
It's quite expensive, but if you really can't wait for alpha; the 'Stellar Supporter' kickstarter tier (With 'developer build' access, the current prototype) is still available on an indiegogo page Inovae set up. Just go to the indiegogo website and search for Battlescape there. :) (Alpha is currently expected for Q1 2017)
3fps ...
Running with max graphics settings and I haven't seen lower than 20, game's still pre-alpha state and hasn't had an optimization pass yet. Not like my Gtx 970 is top of the range either. ;)
Looks impressive !
I notice at the GO site it says that alpha ($110 USD) will be available Oct 2016. is this true?
Unfortunately not, there's been a few delays, devs from INovae talked about a few issues they've had that's put them behind about a month ago in an update post. Current estimate for when all the features they want to be in the game for the alpha launch is early 2017. Unfortunately there's no way to edit indiegogo pledge tier information after a project goes live. They're looking at opening up the current prototype for a weekend or two to the alpha tier backers while they catch up with where they wanted to be in development.
and maybe its not 1G
It is. That's a drop somewhere in the region of 5000 meters. ;)
It's 1 g, it's just that there's no reference for speed or size. That mountain is several km high, but it's really hard to tell.
nice flight and filmed!
когда выйдет?
Probably late 2017, might be early 2018. Alpha starts early next year.
A good question here: is there any turbines on the bottom, compensating gravitation? Quite interesting how does this "chest" stay in the air, having no wings and zero speed.
Yes. The ship has maneuvering engines on all six sides and can fly in any direction. The thrusters facing up, down, left and right are not nearly as powerful as the main and reverse engines. The game doesn't show how much power the engines are using but will do in future updates, only if they're on or off. If you look closely at 1:18 you can see the glow of the "chest" engines lighting up the ship's shadow.
непонятно что это,но выглядит интересным! Куда я попал и что я тут делаю?
Александр, а откуда вы сюда пришли?
Just in case you are wondering about the amoung of views. I posted your video on "Russian Reddit - Pikabu". Check it out: pikabu.ru/story/infinity_battlescape__perelyot_s_odnoy_planetyi_na_druguyu_4535474 And thanks a lot for all your videos!
Thanks for helping get Battlescape seen by more people! :)
yeah, that's exactly what I am trying to do!
Just so you know, the rocky worlds in the prototype at the moment are all moons of that big purple gas-giant. That's why they're all so close together. We should be getting quite a lot more actual planets at true-scale distances (and their moons) before the Alpha build goes live early next year, along with dedicated interplanetary flight mechanics to deal with the greater distances.
Naiba kie yep, I know)
You mean Satelite, Moon is actualy the name of our (earths) Satelite
Why some polygons aren't smoothed?
The game's still quite early in development, all the structures and space station models in the prototype are low-poly mock-ups to give people an idea of the scale and layout of everything. I-Novae are planning on giving everything a full high-detail pass before having textures applied to them, things like smoothing on curved surfaces will get done in texture mapping. :)
Naiba kie cool. Do you plan to have some procedurality on stations and some of it's modules?
I'm not one of the game's developers, It's just I backed the game on Kickstarter and have access to the game's prototype build and talk with them a lot about how they're getting on. And yes, they've making the stations modular just like the ground bases. They've been showing off some great concept art and higher-detail station models this week. inovaestudios.blob.core.windows.net/forumsavatars/original/2X/3/3e70fb10ee86a01917fbaed8ddaaffa8a66450f8.png

Hey Hey Hey! Project still alive!

Yeah, Cinder's level of detail on 'Extreme (max)' settings is a bit much for my single GTX 970. get about 20-30 fps close to the ground there. Out in space, or flying around in the atmosphere of Sarake or Aresthia I get 60. At ground level on those two moons is 35-50. :)
Naiba kie well then i hope my gtx 1060 will run it with 30fps min....:P
