    Hi! I am trying to turn it on, but it sounds really quiet and the volume won’t work, have you encountered anything like this? Thank you:) I am new to this

      There's a lot of different things that could explain what you've described--here's a list of possible causes, IMHO: 1. the speakers aren't properly connected to the speaker terminals 2. the speakers you are using demand far more power than the device can output 3. the stereo isn't set to an active input source (i.e., TAPE vs. AUX vs. AM/FM) 3. it's set to AM/FM, but the tuner isn't set to a strong radio signal 4. power transformer is not working 5. needs capacitors replaced on the circuit board note: you can use a pair of headphones to see whether #1 or #2 may be the cause of the problem (i.e., if you get good sound through headphones--the issue is probably with the speakers or speaker wire)

    How much do you think the 8000 speakers are valued at us dollars?

    • @apocaleo
      @apocaleo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the condition, last I checked a pair of those speakers was selling for anywhere between $900 and $2,000. That's a fair sum of money for a 25-year-old pair of powered speakers---but they sound quite good!

      @@apocaleo Thank you for replying. Do you know of a good 12 inch subwoofer upgrade for a hi end speaker. Someone suggested Dayton, but I want to get something better.

    Hello there, greetings from Cuba. I have a question for you: do you know the ohms requirements for the sony turntable of the video? Thanks!

    do you still recommend the beosound 9000 for use in 2020? iam a big fan of the b&o look and especially their old 2000s looks

    • @apocaleo
      @apocaleo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 9000 isn't for everyone, but for someone who loves CDs and has the right space to set it up as a proper centerpiece, it works and there's nothing else quite like it. It does have an auxiliary input, so it could be connected to a digital analog converter to make it Bluetooth capable.

      I have one of these, my mom bought it at a yard sale! Any idea how to rebalance the tonearm?

    • @maynardgcrabs539
      @maynardgcrabs539 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eliuminati Isn't there a counterweight on the arm at the back? I remember mine would skip on some records so I would put a penny on top of the arm to weigh it down. It worked. Maybe a little tape if you need it. I still have my stereo packed away in the attic. I'll have to dig it out to see if it still works.
