    I would do anything to have that lightness in the front. Im 66 and barely have grey ,let it grow now for 5 months an finnally cut it real real short so i could keep track more. Now i have to wait for it to get long so i can see some kind of pattern. Im complaining because i dont have enough grey!😅 i have always luved grey and silver from a very young age.

    Really beautiful hair though. The mental part is a bit of a Rollercoaster. I'm seeing it through and not turning back. I'm mostly salt and pepper with silver highlights. So true. Younger women love my hair.

    I may have seen you a long time ago, so I'm happy to watch this video of your 2.5 yr grow-out journey. My pattern is VERY similar to yours: "Bright" all around my face, dark on top, back & underneath. My hair is finally touching the top of my shoulders 🎉 I'm letting it grow. Naturally wavy, so "Oiling" my scalp & ends has Really helped keep the frizz in control. LOVE the "headband" style...I'll try it. Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement 😊❤

      @grayexpectations5686 I use the Carrier Oils from VITALITY ESSENTIALS. I started in March of this year. Once you buy from them, they send out alot of sales. Their Fractionated Coconut oil is great. I also have Castor, Hemp, Grapeseed... Hope this helps (no, I'm not a sales person or Influnencer 🤣)

You actually look younger with your natural colour. Your grey pattern is really lovely. I am thinking of starting this journey too and luckily have very scandanavian blonde hair and its fairly white underneath. my Mum and grandmother were pure white too so i am cheerful because i love their naturalcolour. I got my hair cut in a short bob. It has been 1 month since I dyed my hair med brown. At this point I have white hair on left temple..a small amount. The hair dresser said she did not notice any gray. I turned 62 in March and taking the natural hair color journey. My 19 yr old got her hair cut in a pixie.. She has 1 side natural and 1 side pink..we are both going the natural route together.

    Great video and so easy to watch . I started the gray journey 6 weeks ago and I’m ok with it except for the brassy / reddish highlights. I absolutely hate it . I bought blue shampoo (my hair is dark brown) and it didn’t do much . Do you think purple shampoo would work to tone down the brassiness of my hair . I sure would like your opinion. Thank you

      Hi Catherine! Thank you for commenting on my video! 🥰I'm not a hairdresser and not very experienced with hair products other than doing "root touch ups" at home.Like you, I had brown hair and I found if I was out in the sun a lot or tried to extend my salon appointments by touching up my roots, my dyed hair would get a little brassy. At the time my solution was to get myself to the salon for a reset. Of course the dye took care of the brassiness. While I was growing out my natural hair, I tried hard to keep my hair covered to avoid over exposure to the elements. From my understanding brown pigments are prone to breaking down over time leaving orangey/red "highlights." I've read that blue shampoos will help tone these down. Purple shampoos are good for yellowish tones. I would definitely ask a professional hair stylist for their opinion and tips. Good luck! Let me know how things work out. 6 weeks is great progress💞

      You've made such amazing progress with 2 years of growth! I can relate to your feelings for sure and still have the occasional day where I question myself on this decision. When I've had a wobble, my hairdresser has encouraged me to take some time and sit with my thoughts because she didn't want me to do anything impulsive. I was thankful for that advice because if I had acted impulsively, I think that I would have immediately regretted it. It can be hard but shifting the focus away from your hair will help, that was my goal in making this video. At the end of the day, you need to do what makes you happy and what feels right for you. I'm here for you. 🥰

      Hi GG! I'm watching "The Crown" right now and I can see why you felt crushed by that comment. Some ppl say things without thinking and those comments can be hurtful. I know that as much as I enjoy the freedom of my natural hair right now, there are negative aspects to it as well. Like you, I can always go back to dyeing my hair it if I choose to; that is up to me and I'm open to that. You made the right decision for yourself and what's important is that you feel good about it. Gray hair isn't for everyone and it doesn't have to be a permanent choice. I agree ppl judge us by how we look and hair color is a big part of that. Thank you for sharing your experience. 🌺

So after 15 yrs I colored it again. I'm in my 70's. And I literally look so much younger. My skin is bright again. And I feel like me again. My daughter who is 50 has beautiful gray hair.

    Your hair looks beautiful. You have very thick and healthy looking hair. My last dye was August 24th, 2023, so i am only 4 months in the greying process. I love my color so far. Hi, I randomly found your channel. I watched all 3 episodes. It is fun to see all the progress you made. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I have not officially started a hair transition but I missed my last hair color appointment and now I really don’t want to reschedule it. I started the hair coloring process almost 20 years ago. I never really wanted to color my hair but honestly I got a lot of social pressure at work and from my mother to cover my gray. So I tried a semi permanent color back then, it looked so nice but it then got me into this color rut. I really don’t like it. Plus I remember reading a few years ago that hair dye can be linked to cancer. I want to just let go of the coloring hair process. It feels like such a burden. Although I have concerns over the growing out process and how I will look. I think I will toy with the product “color oops”. Perhaps it will make the line between the gray/white less painful (I will test it out 1st on a small underneath section). I also would consider a semi permanent gray white highlights. … it sounds like you almost regret the dye strip. I honestly don’t know how I feel about that option. Well, I hope you will post again. If I actually stick with this perhaps I’ll post too. My last dye was 6/29/23.

    • @grayexpectations5686
      @grayexpectations5686 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Theresa, thank you so much for messaging! 😍I agree that coloring our hair can feel like a burden because in many ways, it is. It takes time, money and planning and we're putting chemicals on our hair, which isn't good. The process of growing out our natural hair, can be long (depending on hair length) and honestly, it's hard to look in the mirror and feel we're not looking our best. Women are under more social pressure than men to dye their hair and look younger; it's complicated. My mother in law once told my husband that his gray hair, made her feel old!! Maybe your Mom feels that way too. There are some great, fun, color options if you decide to go that route. The dye strip technique was good bc it helped me through the first few months, which were the hardest, but it set my overall time line back. Honestly, it's what I needed to get started. Maybe check out a couple of the facebook groups for inspiration and support. I'm happy to support you on your journey too! I'd love to see your post if you decide to go natural. You are seriously considering this and that's how it started for me. I thought about this for many months before I made my decision and I kept reminding myself, that this is my choice and I can always dye it again. You can do this! 🌺

    Your hair is amazing! I'm 63 soon & the hairdresser said my hair is about 65 percent grey now & I've been thinking hard about whether to let it grow out or to keep getting it coloured. It's such a scary thought that i feel like I'm losing my youth. I'm still bad that it's the 1st thing i notice on someone else & even my hubby is all grey with the remainder of his hair. My hairdresser who is about 10 yrs younger than me says she's growing hers out & that she's so excited to have grey hair. I didn't believe it! Am I vain? That's what i think other people must think of me. But it's actually an age thing, not getting old & hanging on to my youth. I know it will happen one day & mentally gave myself a timeline of doing it at 70. I have fibromyalgia & am mostly bed ridden & can't really get out the door & have had to cancel my last 2 appts so the grey regrowth is a few inches now & it would actually be the perfect time to just leave it growing out which is easier for me & getting out of the house problem. Anyway thanx for your video & understanding this situation. Like i said your hair is very beautiful & thanx for your courage 🙏

      So nice to hear from you Ida! 🤩 I completely relate to your feelings about not wanting to look old. Honestly, I wish I had done this years ago because in some ways, I think it's easier to accept gray hair when you still look youthful. I agree that going gray is associated with aging and for me, the adjustment to accepting my natural hair color was almost as much mental as physical. I thought about doing this for about a year before I actually took action and thinking about this now, allows you time to process your feelings. 70 might be the right time for you! I found the first few months quite hard because I didn't like the 3 colors of hair that I had going on. Some days are easier than others and with time, I question my decision less. I'm happy to support you when and if you're ready! Thank you for your message.
