Old school LAUSD crown buses

I boarded this bus frequently and it is one of the two electric buses introduced to the fleet from Proterra that now are going to be replaced with New Flyer electric buses. Oh, just to let you know it is now Santa Maria Regional Transit (SMRT). Santa Maria Area Transit (SMAT) underwent major changes 2 years ago with the introduction of two Proterra electric buses and one year ago on July 1 two bus services, Breeze Bus and Cuyama Valley Transit, were consolidated providing local and regional routes. From what I heard, Proterra went out of business leading to the replacement of the Proterra buses with New Flyer buses. The daily, weekly, and monthly passes once activated still show SMAT on the back of the pass that has the date and time printed. Been living in Santa Maria for 20 years and riding SMRT for almost 18 years.

You can’t beat an old Detroit diesel that’s for sure

I remember boarding SLO RTA one year ago and it was the same type of bus on a different route. Previously, before the 2008 models, the buses had a Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine all the way till I believe 2011 when the 2008 models with the Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine retired.

There are very few operators of Novabus in the western US. Will they still have a chance to receive orders from US transit agencies? I recently been to Montreal and their Novabus are really good.
