Cycling videos and other outdoors stuff...and some thoughts...
🦃 🔥 in 🥶 weather
Took the Crux out for a road spin. Sometimes I just feel like riding the Crux even when on the road. Some of my local road conditions justify it.

Did this loop when I first got the Crux and hadn’t gone back until today (7 months later). Looking back on Strava I completed the segment 1 min 40 secs faster than my original time. Definitely gotten more comfortable on the Crux…the loop is about 1 mile. #cycling #gravelcycling #specializedcrux
I ❤️ Maudslay on the Crux

One of my favorite places to ride on the Crux. Too easy on a MTB but pretty tense on the Crux…Did the reverse of my normal route...don't know which direction I like best... #cycling #specializedcrux

I have been using a Peloton for winter fitness but nothing beats the real thing. Trying to ride outdoor as much as I can this winter. #cycling #zwift #peloton

Amesbury has added 4 great breweries in the last 7 years. They are all within walking distance of each other. If you like beer you should give Amesbury a visit. #beer #cycling #microbrewery

Definitely improved. In high school, I would ride a bike to class down a fairly busy street out of my neighborhood. Looking back it was one of the most sketchy things I've ever done. Cars and trucks whizzing by at 35MPH, barely a foot between me and the mirror of every car. Any mistake from me or any driver would mean my death. In the 6 years since I moved, they've dramatically improved that route. A dedicated bike lane along nearly the entire 3 miles of road, connections to a local park's network and pathways not only leading into the center of the city, but beyond. It's not perfect, but progress has come along fairly quickly for a mid-size suburban town. It has a ways to go, but I do see a lot more people cycling, which is great to see.
That is good to hear. When I moved to the town I live in about 10 years ago there were zero dedicated bike lanes on the road. We now have a bike lane on the main street heading in and out of town. The main improvement in my town is for off-road riding where old railway lines have been converted to pedestrian/cycling paths. I can cycle from my town to neighboring towns 99% off road with just a few spots that have not been connected.
Massholes be drivin' cars!
It’s not just Massachusetts…they are everywhere 😊
Really like the videos! Have you taken your Crux to the end of the Parker River Wildlife refuge? Wondering how handles the gravel gravel section.
I have taken the Crux the end of the Parker River Gravel Section and it handled very well.
@ awesome! Thanks a lot, I’ve been debating the crux for so long and seeing your videos riding pretty much everywhere I ride has sold me on it, thanks again!
I am sure you will enjoy it. Another thing I forgot to mention is the reliability, I have put 1,700 miles on it so far and it has not even needed one tune up, just a regular chain clean and lube is all I have needed to do thus far.
@ found one on sale at Papa Wheelies and grabbed it, did a quick night ride down the ghost trail and up to seabrook, totally in love with it. Thanks for the insight
So glad to hear that. Enjoy the ride. Tomorrow looks the last great day to ride in this part of the country this season. Hope you have the chance to give it a good ride. I'd love to see a pic of the new bike. Thanks for your kind comments.,
Thank you, I enjoy making them.
I love watching videos like this, keep it up man
Thanks, will do!
This is one of my favorite rides!
Mine too. The road has been repaved recently making it even better. Can get a little busy in the Summer, but definitely one of my favorite rides. I feel lucky to live nearby.
