why we travel (not because of fomo)
For over a decade now, travel content has flooded the internet with many people sharing the beautiful places they have visited. As a young adult millennial, seeing this type of content on the daily was FOMO-inducing, and let's be honest, getting to travel to awesome places is a great escape from the mundane day-to-day. My wife and I have a bucket list of places to travel to, but for the last 10+ years, we have only seen three destinations together. And when it comes to individual numbers, its less. This video will explain the reason for that, and how my mindset has changed whenever struck with travel-FOMO.

I love taking the Skytrain to travel around Metro Vancouver whether it be on the Millennium Line, Expo Line or Canada Line. But apparently, the Skytrain was not the only commuter train in Vancouver; there was also the West Coast Express why was by far the most relaxing train ride I've ever been on! Camping in BC is as close to nature that you can get. And if you live in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, you don’t need to go for a long-drive because it’s just in our backyard (by Harrison Lake)! I started reading mostly productivity and self-help books and also after School so it is starting to grow on me as a way to relax. Cheers to us Millennials on finding peaceful habits!

Yes, I agree. Reading enough self improvement books can get pretty dry. I'm on the same boat as you in looking for a fiction series to dive into. I recently finished the Harry Potter series to ease me into the world of fantasy and the next on my list is The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I'm a big fan of the LOTR movies so I hope to dive into the world of Middle Earth in the future.

I also start reading books and my first book was atomic habit and i finished it in 2 weeks it was so special experience for me and now i am reading actually 2 books which are limitless by jim kwik and psyco cybernetics i know it feels amzzing to read book but it was tough at the start

You are really good with telling your story! Visuals, little pauses and so on, really stopping video really! I'm addict with phone, I have been out for while but still considering myself as addict as I still fall easily to that hole. This was really helpful and clarified my vision of future as I have kids and the way Milo seeked attention, reminded me of my kids. It's heartbreaking! Going to save this video to my personal "when I'm in the hole" -playlist <3

What alternatives have you tried to minimize your phone usage?
I have tried new hobbies, some with more and less success. Also I have analyzed reasons behind my addiction and made phone usage harder and less appealing with greyscale and screenzen app. I'm usually good, but then there is days when I have anxiety or too much stress, then it's really hard to resist old coping mechanism. But so far I have hopped back with my tools and alternatives.
@@minde7181 I agree with you there. There's definitely days (even weeks) when I'm in the slump and its just a black hole that sucks you in. Glad to hear from your success. Maybe I should give the greyscale a shot on my phone to make things less attractive.

I tend to use my phone and computer a lot, too. So what I did is I turned off all notifications: sounds, banners, pin badges for all soc med accounts. It frees up a lot of time as I tend to get distracted and forget what I’m supposed to do when I open my soc med accounts. The downside is it would take time for me to reply on these platforms. I’m more available on WhatsApp, Signal and Messaging App. 😅
I need to take a page off your book there! Some day I’ll muster the commitment to disable all things social media on my phone!
