    When I buried my godfather Tom Thacker, there were red poppies flowering in the field. I found this rather poignant as he’d served in Burma in WW2. Red is the colour of remembrance for all our fallen, no matter what ethnicity 👌

    This is a new low. The poppy has nothing to do with race. You're racialising (making it racist) people dying in brutal wars.

    I survived my suicidal attempt when I was 18. I am so grateful that I didn’t die even though I became paralyzed. By God’s Grace, my mental health is excellent now. If you are depressed, I hope you will not give up, it’s a treatable medical condition. If I can recover, anyone is able to potentially. Hi Courtney, Thank you for your message. Future Me Gloucestershire is ran on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, so we are based in the offices at Shire Hall in Gloucester. However, for the time being we are all working from home and we expect this to be the case for the foreseeable future. Yes of course, the role is very flexible and if you were to be successful with your application should you decide to apply, we will work around your schedule wherever possible. Many thanks.

    Also i wanted to know whether the results day for A Level will be as usual, will we have to come in or will it be sent through the post?

    • @futureme7795
      @futureme7795 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nik, the results day for A Levels will be on the 13th of August 2020 as originally planned. However, as far as we are currently aware, it is still unknown at this stage whether you will be able to go in to collect your results on results day or whether they will all be delivered to your address by post only. Based on the most recent government advice, it seems as though some children might be able to go back into schools just before the end of the summer term and some public places might be able to re-open in July, BUT this is only if the research suggests it is safe to do so. This means that you might be able to go in to collect your results come August (provided the government say it is safe to do so), but at this stage, it is too early to be able to say what will happen for definite. :)

  • @DisposalMC
    @DisposalMC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Will resit students previous A level grades be used individually? This is a question I've seen no one answer yet. So, say someone got a D last year, and decide to resit this year. All their evidence this year points to an A and the teacher predicts them to get an A based on evidence, will the fact that they got a D last year limit the grade they can get this year? And if so that would make it incredibly unfair and would discriminate against resit students.

    • @futureme7795
      @futureme7795 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Max, thank you for your comment. The guidance states that schools and colleges should take into account the full range of available evidence when they grade students - including non-exam assessment; the results of any homework assignments or mock exams; and any other records of student performance over the course of study. Therefore, if you were for example working towards an A grade and all of your assessments, assignments, coursework and mock exam results clearly demonstrated this, then teachers will use all of this as evidence to support the decision they make on what grade they believe best represents what you would have achieved this year if exams had gone ahead. However, if you were to end up in a situation where you received a grade that you strongly disagreed with, then you have the opportunity to make use of the appeals process, or the opportunity to sit any relevant examinations in Autumn or in Summer 2021 as the guidance mentions. It's important to remember that some information in the current Ofqual guidance may change depending on how long we are all unable to go about our normal daily lives, however, we will do our best to keep everyone updated if this is the case. Good luck if you are receiving results this summer! :)

    In you opinion do you think the grading system will be largely biased?

    • @futureme7795
      @futureme7795 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nik, I could understand why some people may be concerned about a bias, however, as stated in the guide, all schools and colleges have been asked to use their professional experience to make a fair and objective judgement of the grade they believe any student would have achieved had exams gone ahead. Schools and Colleges will also not be sharing provisional grades, nor rank orders, with any students or parents and carers, which would also help to eliminate any potential bias. Good luck if you are receiving any results this summer! :)
